I think it's very unlikely that the Croatia game will move to the PS, but not for that reason. I can't imagine tens of thousands wanting to watch Wales vs Uruguay at the PS. If there is a need for a big screen the Blues' ground could easily accommodate it. The match would be played several hours earlier as well. The only scenario where the Croatia game could be played at the PS is if we make a flying start and there's a huge clamour for tickets. I'm not sure if the 6 month notification rule around venues still applies, but even if it did Croatia might agree to a switch anyway. Chances are that if we do make a flying start that the hullabaloo around supposedly giving up a competitive advantage by playing at the CCS would make it difficult for the FAW to make the switch. All in all it's not likely to happen. Bearing in mind you could have added another 5-6000 minimum ROI fans into PS last years and you didn't then see zero chance of it for Croatia.
Believe its a 90 day rule not 6 months plus would not really be that much of an issue as stadiums in same city very close together.

This is a tough group and anyone saying otherwise is crazy. Croatia are easily one of the best sides in the world and Slovakia are a very decent side on their day. Hungary have been poor in recent campaigns but will still make it difficult as possible. I would be very surprised if we won our group, but finishing at minimum 2nd is essential. If not, Giggs has not done his job. I agree. Croatia are World Cup finalists, regardless of what may be said about them they are clearly an excellent side. Their Nations League campaign was a mixed bag but they still beat Spain at home (and lets not forget how we got on against them). Slovakia are a decent side and will be very tough to beat. Hungary finished top of a Euro 2016 group that contained Portugal (they drew) and Austria and Iceland (both of whom they beat). Again, not great in the Nations League but they are a better side now than they've been for probably 30+ years. Azerbaijan will be a tough place to go to as well. This is tougher than our WC qualifying group, IMO, the redeeming feature is that everyone is capable of taking points off each other which may work out okay for us.

I know it's early but i was just thinking how the criteria for the away games in june will be done as they are so close together. Im assuming it will be the same criteria for both as the Croatia game will not be able to count towards the Hungary game?

You probably need to be 6 games at least to guarantee a tickets for either. I'm going and I'm on 3. Possibly get a better allocation for Croatia. I assume they've behaved better recently and there's no danger of the game being played behind closed doors !

Maybe the last euro qualifiers.

Think they maybe ok with their manager at the moment.

We have to win our first game against Slovakia, in my opinion. Let's hope Andy King's starting then. LOL bit cheeky mate but I agree, if Ledley isn't available, I would like to see Ampadu or King playing deeper, instead of Ramsey.

Playing Croatia away in June should be perfect timing for us - given that their players should be flagging by then, following their participation in the World Cup final. Apart from the 33-year old Modric, Mandžukić, Subašić and Ćorluka will also all be 33 by the time we play them. A big test for sure, but we've got to go into the game thinking we can win. I agree that we have to go in with a winning mentality, as we did against Denmark. As an aside, I'm sure Mandžukić has retired.

NI will feel UEFA have done a job on them We were in pot 2, NI were in pot 3. Bar getting Serbia from pot 3 I'm not sure it could have been worse than what we got to be honest.

We have to play in Croatia and Hungary at the height of summer when it will be boiling out there. No doubt be Giggs's excuse when we lose.
Just looking at the Scotland group and can't believe how lucky they have been. They have got a better draw from pot 3 than we got from pot 2. Russia as a second seed who are probably, at most, on par with Slovakia in personnel terms. Then playing Russia away during summer and Cyprus away during winter to avoid the extreme weather. First three games are Kazakhstan away, San Marino away, Cyprus home so will likely be on 9 points after three games. They have a brilliant chance to qualify from that.

In fact I was unaware that Mandžukić, Subašić and Ćorluka had all retired post-World Cup. Looking at their World Cup squad they have more depth than us, but beyond the best 6 or 7 players a lot are playing for decent club sides in the top 5 leagues, but not elite level clubs. This list includes the afore-mentioned retirees: www.soccerbase.com/teams/team.sd?team_id=670

You conveniently overlook that both Croatian and English players were in the same boat, that won't be the case come June. With modern conditioning it may not be as big a factor as it would have been even a decade ago, but players often flag or pick up wear and tear injuries in the season following an international tournament. We'll just have to wait and see if that works in our favour, but everything being equal it should.

Dragon Soccer confirming a few things: All our home fixtures to be stages at the CCS ... so no move for Croatia game etc. We are obliged to have a friendly on Match Days 1 and 6. Reading between the lines, it can be with a non UEFA side, as long as that is justified. Matchday 1 (free UEFA nations) Germany, Kosovo, Serbia, Denmark. Germany at the MS will be grand. Not likely to travel away BEFORE a very important match v Slovakia, at home. I don't mind playing any of the others, providing its HOME. Matchday 6 (free UEFA nations) ROI, Belarus, Ukraine, Bulgaria. Would love to go AWAY to any of those, especially as its AFTER a 'straightforward' home fixture v Azerbaijan.

All my annual leave requests submitted to cover me for all four matches. I've nothing booked. Might start on flexi hotels first before inevitably cancelling and using Airbnb instead!

I think I am ok at the moment but more away friendlies will scupper those plans I think while away friendlies sound attractive now, in reality with so many games I think FAW would be a little unfair to pile one or two in. Fans aren't made of money and we sacrifice other stuff to follow our country.
Doing a friendly at home for £10 plus £1 for a child may breakeven but unlike FAI you don't have a stadium to pay off.
