Well if there's to be a comeback story I can't think of any other club I'd want it to happen at.

Probably to do with their promotion and a good offer from Scotland. He played in all the games in Scotland from the beginning of the season (22 July) until 7 October. He only got 7' under their new coach in November.

He's had a strange career. 33 goals over 2.5 seasons (the half season being in League Two and the 2 full seasons in League One) as a 19-21 year old but since then he's completely nose-dived. Not sure if he only works in a certain system and Plymouth changed theirs or something? Or maybe the good form was just flash in the pan. Either way, Plymouth fans seemed quite happy to see the back of him, which is strange for a young homegrown player with a decent goal-scoring record.
Would be great if he could rediscover his shooting boots though - hopefully he can strike up a good partnership with Will Evans up front.

Think this is a good move for him and Newport. He went on loan to Swindon (I think) in L2 last year and did ok. I think this is a case of him bursting on the scene at 19 and scoring goals for fun, which naturally got people excited. But it's happened plenty of times before - anyone know where Jake Cassidy is playing now? Think he just came in in great form, and the more he's played the more we see what his level really is. I watched him quite a few times for the u21s and he struggled to make an impression. He's not physically or technically gifted, but is a decent poacher.
It does go to show that people shouldn't be so quick to hype up these youngsters. I remember Page getting a lot of shit for not selecting him when he was doing well in League 1. It was the same with Sorba Thomas and plenty of other players who have turned out to be not up to it. It's why I find it annoying when people criticise Page for being too loyal. It's not that, it's just that people always want to drop regular squad members for the flavour of the month which doesn't work in the grand scheme of things

Haha.

Despite the ups and downs, Jephcott has decent enough career stats, 44 goals from 111 starts in all competitions.
