Moldova is the stand out away trip for me. Looking at the Irish forums some of the lads there are talking about a sleeper train over from Bucharest. Moldova is still relatively off the map and its name creates intrigue and mystery. Cheap as chips as well!!!

Really looking forward to this one already I'm not entirely sure why, and it may be a bit awkward to get to, with a potentially small allocation, but I can't wait!

Here in my opinion is a fascinating TV show if any of you are interested. It's about TRANSDNIESTRIA and Moldova. TRANSDNIESTRIA is in Moldova to the East and wants stronger ties with Russia and Ukraine and Moldova wants stronger ties to the West. It's the poorest country in Europe and before world war 2 Moldova used to be a part of Romania people were offered Romanian citizenship after independence which if I remember properly (might be wrong) Millions took it and left. Moldova even had a civil war there are people there who say are Romanian some Moldovan some Russian some Trans. Tisaspol (football teams called Sheriff) is the second biggest city in Moldova but it's in Trans so if the games there it's good to know these things. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiraspol Anyway for anyone interested www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0I404gXbNg also episode 3 in this series is about TWO places in Georgia that are fighting for independence www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ykJaN0Q9PI

This is the one that stands out for me too, fascinating country that you rarely hear much about. Should be a great trip for those that make it. The Wizz Air flights must be fairly new as last time I checked you couldn't fly there directly.

Already looking at a double city break: fly to Bucharest for a few nights then a train to Chisinau. Should be a great trip.
And if the game's in Transnistria then all the better!

I can't wait for this one, what an experience it'll be. Food and drink look dirt cheap but accommodation surprisingly expensive.
That's a great link posted above, really useful !

Having researched a bit more I cannot see the game being played in Transnistria due to the political situation and that all their recent games have been played in Chisinau.

I've worked out that the whole trip for Moldova for myself should cost around £150. £100 at the most for flights, £15 for 2 nights accommodation and I can't see myself spending more than £35 on drinks, food and taxis. Loving the fact we've drawn them. Can see there being a scramble for tickets and flights though!
Edit: Add ticket money on to that!

Flights can only be booked a year in advance. I assume that the prices erasedcitizen are based on the cheapest prices he can find for flights to Chisinau and accommodation.

Shit, that's a hell of a difference to the cost of some of the hotels, I'll have a good look . Looking to get this booked as soon as possible, which ll probably be September '16 when the flights come out. Pity it's not for a few years really.. Cheers butt

Unless there's a surge in flight prices (wizz could well pull the flights to Chisinau due to lack of interest) or Moldova becomes pricey all of a sudden, it won't be too different.

I ended up in Macedonia around the time we played in Skopje (Annoyingly there was no way for me to make the game) and the Wizz Air flights cost a fortune around the game - I ended up flying back from Belgrade and even that was pretty expensive with quite a few fans on the flight. You'll want to get in early!

Aye, that's the plan. I'll be on hand to book the second they go on sale. If we're doing well, those 150 seats on the flight could go quite quickly!
The fact the flight lands 3 hours before the game will hopefully put people off booking mind!

Yep, I'll try and get out there on the Saturday flight I think (assuming the schedule is the same) - Wizz Air don't have a great record with delays and Luton airport is stressful enough as it is!

Calm down everyone, this game is more than 2 years away. By then :- Wizz Air will have stopped flights, Russia will have invaded them. It will already be impossible for us to qualify. All the hangeroners will have gone back to egg chasing.
Whats all the panic about?
