tamer tuna- great name but how does he qualify? If London born with Turkish family he'll qualify for England and Turkey, not us. What you need to do ljd, is find players who are British citizens but born OUTSIDE the UK (eg- kids born on army bases in Germany, like Darren Barnard)
matt vokes- I imagine he'd want to join his big bro in the Wales set up- one to keep an eye on. Just seen a pic of him. He looks miles OLDER than his brother!
sanchez watt- doesn't seem to be interested now- sod him.
aryn williams- I imagine Flynn will be well aware of him, although I imagine he'll also be well wary of him too! (given what happened with his big bro) tread carefully Flynnie.
michael nardeiello- you sure he qualifies?

Tamer Tuna?? Never heard of him, . . . . . .BUT I did meet a Tuna tamer once. Very similar to a lion tamer. Only difference is the chairs are much smaller. ;D

there's arwel bolo-spetznaz at cska; father is a Welsh-Russian and mother is nigerian. i think he's played for russia at youth level, but is 'open minded' about full honours.

Brilliant   No doubt there will be plenty in the youth set ups at Wolves, Villa, Shrewsbury and anywhere else where their academy catchment area goes into Wales. |

marsvolta is right. Nsiala was born in the Congo and moved to Liverpool at the age of ten. Presumably he is now a British citizen, which means he can play for England, Scotland, Northern Ireland or us.
Tuna was born in London- to make him qualified for us, I think you'll have to find him a Welsh granny ljd.

Oh, and while its admirable that you want to try and find more players who qualify for us, I'd be amazed if you can unearth someone that Flynnie doesn't alreay know about. There was something in the jock press about how he'd found out one of their players Dad (Steven Naismith perhaps?)was born in Wales (God knows how!?) and had asked him if he'd be interested in playing for us years ago. It seems that with Flynn in charge of the youth set up, we're on top of the dual qualified situation now. Although, to be fair to Jimmy Shoulder, he did find out that Owen Hargreaves was qualified for us years before England found out he qualified for them too.

yeah, im with you trendy.maybe if they played for cardiff or swansea it would add some credibility.im all up for getting dual qualified players to improve the squad but thats too far.
i suppose it wouldnt be so bad tho if someone like nsaila played u18,u19 and u21 before playing for the seniors.it would seem then that he nailed his colours to the mast early and stuck by it.but in general,i think grandparents is far enough.

I'm not particularly comfortable with it either, but them's the rules... thing about Nsiala is, he certainly wouldn't be the first...
-John Robinson (Ok, so he might have lived in Wales when he played for Cardiff but he'd given up international footie by then)
-Darren Barnard
-Eric Young
-Jeremy Goss
-Pat Van Den Hauwe
As far as I know all these players are British citizens, born outside the UK, who have no Welsh family and haven't lived in Wales (although I'm not 100% sure- correct me if you are)
There are probably a few others I can't think of now...anyone?

Depends how good he is. We don't want another George Berry. I recall a George Berry interview in which he basically said that the racial abuse he suffered in the 70s didn't really bother him as the grief he got off his Welsh family - about how soft/girly/gay he must be because he preferred football to rugby - had toughened him up I might be majorly misrepresenting the sentiment of the piece, but I'm usually right about everything..... ;D |

OK michael nardiello - 1st cousin of daniel nardiello 19 and at west brom Daniel only qualifies via his father, Donato's birthplace...so does Michael have a parent born in Wales as well (though I am sure the Home Associations are waiting for the ink to dry on some spurious gentleman's agreement about qualifying depending on where your uncle went to school for a couple of terms :  |

Although he isn't youth as such (he's 19 now) Jake Howells of Luton Town is bloody awesome AND qualifies for Wales. He can play left back/wing and is just quality going forward yet for some reason Wales have yet to follow up their initial interest in him. In the last season he has been involved in the England C squad yet given that a number of Wrexham players have featured and started for Wales over the past few years then I see no reason why Howells shouldn't be involved somewhere along the line. I am pretty surprised as Flynn is great at attracting young talent to Wales so it may be that the connection isn't there at all. flynnfan i found something on the internet about 3 days ago (not wikipedia) that actually said van pauwe mother was welsh and his dad belgian. i thought it was residency but can anyone verify that or was the website i was on just bullpoo

I just read Van Den Hauwe's wikipedia entry, which says his Mams Welsh too. I don't think she is though. I've just had a look at my Wales v Spain programme from 1985 (the match he made his debut in) which gives details as to exactly how each player qualifies ( ie - Kenny Jackett- born Watford, but qualifies through his Swansea born father). Van Den Hauwe's entry says that as a naturalized British citizen he was eligable to play for any of the four home nations, but has chosen Wales ( I think probably because of the Ratcliffe/Southall Everton connection)
As for Nsiala- I think its probably worth us sounding him out to see if he wants to come through with our u19s/u21s before Scotland or Northern Ireland come sniffing around. After all, him living in Liverpool means he's under our noses more than theirs. Wouldn't want him to decide at the age of 24 whilst playing for Macclesfield town that he wants to represent Wales though...
That Mwstyrd Dijon is a hot prospect though. Just the kind of player we need to help us improve our seeding.

thats brilliant is that how flynn rolls? if they say no he proves them wrong and finds a welsh nain for them.
and if it says that in the programme well thats got to be true. someones changed wiki then and another website took their info from there.
