Geraint Williams does not manage the under 16s. Osian Roberts does. So...Geraint Williams manages the 17s 19s and 21s the 17s and 19s have both qualified to the next stage of thier respective tournaments and the u21s after a tough start are sitting in 3rd place and could go within a point of england in first place if we beat them in the next match. People called for Williams head on here few months back hahahahaa funny old place

Wouldn't it be great if Williams and Flynn could both coach these sides?

A couple of observations
1 Why on earth would you not announce a full squad
2. How does Wrexham reserve Ogleby get in the squad at all, especially when Cassidy isn't.

I am really keen to see the following players as I can see them being the most likely to progress, good games from them will see clubs at a higher level showing more interest
Lawrence Isgrove Walsh John Henly
Not sure about the others but Evans, O'Sullivan, Edwards and Ray could well progress to full internationals as well

Isn't George Ray something ridiculous like 6'6"?

Morgan Fox - another Wales left back - you can't have too many.
His brother Ollie is in the boyband "Recall" and was on X Factor apparently.

Could be because Ogleby has actually scored a few goals for the u21s and Cassidy hasn't scored a single goal for Wales at any level yet?

I'm sorry but a guy not good enough for a mid table conference team should not be playing ahead of a league 1 regular.
Cassidy finally got a goal for Tranmere recently so his dented confidence may be back, a decent game against England would make a massive difference.
Ogleby will never be a full international whilst Cassidy has a chance in my opinion.

But you are not taking into account the fact that Cassidy's Wales career thus far has been absolutely fucking appalling.

Poor goal to give away that, that lads only got one tactic in his locker and thats cut inside and shoot- for a winger he had already had about 5 shots before the goal which tells you all you need to know: hes obviously a greedy bastard so force him down the outside.
Other than that we have done alright so its a shame that all it takes is one moment where we aren't quite sharp enough and we are a goal down. Tough ask to get anything out of the game now.

Wales have nothing in central midfield. Huws maybe should have played here with the U21's

82 mins gone. 1 nil to England but they've only had 1 shot on target but Wales not a single shot on target. We needed a playmaker here. Wales just can't get a grip on the game

Lawrence nearly scores... A deflection off an England hand sends it wide

The biggest positive Wales can take from this game for me is how complete the Wales players are on the ball. Its been like that for a few years now but its great to see the defenders stroking the ball around using both feet. A joy to watch. Lawrence was Wales best player but was kind of on his own.

It was a good performance. We were solid and just didn't manage to get anything on the counter apart from the Burns chance when he should have done better. I'd say none of the players are going to be special but many will provide depth for the main squad. We need the kind of solidity they showed today in the seniors and with the likes of Bale and Ramsey we can take advantage on the counter.

Looking at this game earlier on BT the summarisers were all English & should have been a lot more even handed & not blatantly biased BT should have at least employed a Welshman for the game we are after all a home nation not Germany or France.
Lawrence was very impressive but also freeman, O'Sullivan , Burns & Walsh

We were very solid, but I didn't think the 4-4-2 formation did us any favours. It made it very hard to retain possession and build from the back. It makes you wonder if Williams is given a completely free hand with the U21s, rather than being given the remit of preparing them tactically for the seniors. Lawrence and Burns impressed - definitely ones to watch.

I think from that team our best hopes are Joe Walsh, Tom Lawrence and Declan John, although it's a shame that John is a left back.
Isgrove could be another

Finland only managed a draw with San Marino last night, so I think (although its complicated) we might still have a chance of a play off as one of the best 4 2nd placed teams IF we finish this group well. This is from the UEFA website: The 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship comprises a qualifying group stage and play-off round to determine which seven teams join hosts the Czech Republic in the final tournament. Qualifying group stage Teams are split into ten groups – two of six teams and eight of five – and play each other on a home and away basis. The ten group winners and four runners-up with the best record against the teams first, third, fourth and fifth in their sections advance to the play-offs. ---------- Our next game is home to England on May 19th. We don't have a senior game then (we play the Dutch on 4th June) Take this match to Wrexham (where there'll be a decent and passionate crowd) and bring Emyr Huws, Jonathan Williams, Ben Davies, Harry Wilson and Adam Matthews into the squad?? www.faw.org.uk/results.ink?Teamname=2&ShowRecords=40&_self

We have to bring in these players because the U21's although limited England to 2 shots on target we did not get a single shot on target and you can't win games like that.

I paid for my travel up to Derby but had to write it off due to being beaten by a chest infection & pleurisy Overall, I was impressed with the structure and shape. It augers well for the future especially in terms of our senior squad being deeper. I made a big thing that Coleman should have allowed Huws & Joniesta to play in this game. With the former, I should be gracious to accept - overall - that I was mistaken and Coleman was right. However, for the home fixture, agree 100% with Flynnfan. Imagine what those players would do to England!!

I was impressed by Lawrence. Had he scored from that slightly deflected effort late in the second half that would have been one hell of a goal, collectively and individually. Given that the campaign in earnest doesn't start until October it's not inconceivable that he could be pushing for a place in the senior squad, if not the first team, from a fairly early stage in the qualifiers. Continued regular game time at at least Championship level (which after all is no different to Vokes' current level) is a pre-requisite though.
