Fair play what a crazy week of results.
Have to say a huge well done to the young lads. To get through with a victory like that is amazing.

Draw takes place on 5th December, would be nice if we could host our group
Could play at Wrexham and Bangor, although I would prefer in Cardiff and Swansea for purely selfish reasons

Those of you on twitter, check out the difference in the official Cardiff & Swansea pages and their approach to their young players representing the u19s. I see pride from Cardiff and silence from Swansea.
As a Swans fan, I am increasingly disappointed with the attitude of my club to the national side. Saying we are in Premiership is no excuse. So are Cardiff and credit to them on this occasion.

Youth development at Swansea is in bit of a state of turmoil at the moment. There's great developments in progress as far as facilities are concerned, with Landore complete and Fairwood well on the way. But there are big question marks about the achievements and aims of the academy. Swansea are the only Premier League team apart from the newcomers without a Category 1 academy, and there hasn't been a commitment to attain one any time soon (an indoor barn is a prerequisite and that isn't in the pipeline as far as I'm aware). There's also been misgivings about the way the whole academy has been run, and there are rumours that Tony Pennock has left, with a Spanish guy to take over.
Wales could seriously benefit from well run Welsh academies at all levels, but particularly in Swansea and Cardiff. If Swansea aren't careful, Cardiff will steal a march on them with regard to achieveing Cat 1 status - if that isn't motivation enough to get their house in order then I don't know what is...

OK, interesting stuff (especially with my Swans hat on) and both clubs are critical to the future of Welsh Football. However, my key point here is the indifference that our club is showing to the national side. Do you agree or disagree, especially as I have given yet another example. I hope I am not a sole voice on this.

Wales U19 beat Moldova 6-0, and Georgia beat Netherlands 2-1. Wales qualify to next stage in second place on goals scored! fantastic! Well done to Geraint Williams who seems to be doing good jobs at 21, 19 and 17s level now. Excellent news, well done to all the coaching staff & the players Our nation is proud of you all. www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-defender-declan-john-6315995?I think a few of the team were in the Victory Shield slaughter of England a few years back.

I'm not sure who you mean when you talk about the club - the fans or the club officials? There was definitely a lot of debate on Wales issues on the Scfc2 forum a while back - but it's certainly true that there is a fair contingent who don't give a damn about Wales. As for the club as a whole, I'm generally disappointed with their lack of engagement with the grassroots. You would expect that they would look to dominate football at grassroots level upwards in West Wales, but I see limited evidence of that. I have even seen critical comments about a lack of involvement with the Swansea Junior Leagues - which is pretty indefensible if the criticisms are valid. There seems to be a lack of awareness of the tremendous synergies that could be achieved between the aims of the FAW trust and their own in developing a broad base of players playing the Swansea way. Huw Jenkins is a capable and canny chairman for certain, but I'm not sure if he's a visionary.

Maybe Mr Jenkins has the hump because of a lack of games down at the Liberty

The top two in every group, along with the third-placed side with the best record against the leading pair, will follow top seeds Spain into the elite round in spring 2014. From that seven teams will emerge to join Hungary in the finals that summer, which will also act as the qualifying competition for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
Taken from uefa.com, nothing on there to say we can't host the next group

It is not the first time either. On face value, Cardiff have a considerable greater amount of respect for the Welsh team than our team does. As for the fans, the propensity for indifference towards the national side is far greater amongst our fellow fans than amongst Cardiff.

Brandi Kandi will be dancing in the streets of Tonypandy after that result.
On a more serious note: well done to the little buggers, imagine that, a group of young players coming through who have got mental fortitude and know what it's like to see a job through. A frightening prospect.

Fair play. To see a group where we are above Holland looks amazing. Have we ever finished above Holland at any level of football ever before?
Also, has any team in a 4 team group lost a their first game by 4 goals but qualifed for the next stage on goal difference or goals scored before?

Alarch, Swans appointed a new consultant today I saw on a tweet from Phil Cadden.
More generally, still nothing on the official Swans page about their players and their achievement with the u19s. A disgrace and something more Swans should be speaking up about.

I suppose the worrying thing is if any of them show a hint of being any good Roy Hodgson will be checking their linegae / schooling etc. We need to cap every single one of them in our next competative match

I called for Geraint Williams to be given the boot after the U21 San Marino farce but he deserves more time. Welldone to him and the players u17 and u19. I'm really looking forward to the England u21 games. Should be fun

Thought the U16 played some lovely football against Northern Ireland . they did. It could have been 6 or 7 nil...and this against a NI team who beat England away in their last game.
