I wanted Kazakhstan until I saw the £300 flight price and that was the cheapest! Would mean I'd have to sack some other aways off so probably wouldn't bother and just do the other 3 or 4. A bit of a boring country, unless you have time to cross into Russia or China, or at least Uzbekistan, as well ;-)
Think they tend to do decent onward flights to Asian destinations, as part of a stop-over. Again, if you have the time...
Yeah think we'd struggle with the time off work and that, wouldn't mind it if it was affordable like. Expensive for you? Or did you do it as part of an Asian adventure? Lol

Eh? I've never heard of anyone transferring in Kazakhstan before. Am I missing something?

Really?? I wouldn't say that personally It's probably one of the most interesting and different countries we could possibly get Just my personal experience from two trips. Out of the 12 Soviet Republics i have been to, I'd say it was the least exciting.

Eh? I've never heard of anyone transferring in Kazakhstan before. Am I missing something? Probably more Uzbek Air via Tashkent (and be sure to check out Bukhara and Samarkand). Tashkent to Almaty is a mere overnight £25 train ride ;-)
Other than the Baltic republics, if we get a former Soviet rep, I will be happy to post advice ;-)

The trouble with the Baltic countries is the fact that the grounds are all tiny with minimal allocations. Preference for me would be Portugal out of pot 1, Hungary out of pot 3, Greece out of 4, Azerbaijan out of 5 and Kazakhstan out of 6.

I can’t think of a more underwhelming group than that so hope we get it.

Poland, Wales, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Latvia, Gibraltar will do very nicely thank you very much.
On the other hand - France, Wales, Sweden, Serbia, Georgia and Kazakhstan can very well get in the bin.

I'd go back to Georgia in a heartbeat. Can I assume you only want to visit new places? Sweden is a very pleasant country too. Albeit an expensive one. Just like with Austria, Moldova, Ireland, Georgia and Serbia - there'll be some good points and bad points. I knew I'd not get a Moldova ticket so I didn't bother booking anything.

I'm guessing it was more from an on pitch perspective he didn't want those sides.

You should have gone, 8 of us flew without tickets and all picked up spares quiet easily. We gave our home to tickets to the guy in the Hotel who booked and picked them up for us, he was in tears!

Agreed Moldova was incredible, devastatingly poor but a classic Eastern European away trip. Few of our group got tickets in the home end but no one was checking people coming into the away properly so they just walked straight up to us and we're in the away end the whole game.

As far as the draw goes I'm one of those who'd like a few different places to go, would go most places again but for the love of god can we not draw Ireland.
Poland Wales Finland Estonia Kosovo Gibraltar
All new places for me and a very winnable group.

I never seem to hear of spares nor get offered them abroad. Maybe one for Denmark on Twitter which went in seconds. The ticket is the last thing I get each time. Hindsight!

I'm pretty sure that they don't do the draw and then send the delegates off to agree the fixtures any more. I think it is something like they do the draw of the group and then send the delegates off to do a secondary draw of the actual fixtures, it is only for the delegates only agree the actual day
I think the draw is made and a computer draws the fixtures automatically and straight away?
Because some nations couldn't agree on fixtures/dates etc in the past UEFA decided that they would randomly do the fixtures to stop bickering etc. Some nations were locked away for days trying to agree!!!!

In fairness you probably don't know that many Welsh fans living away and with only a few games under your belt. More of your snide digs. Can I tell you that you're unlike any fan I've met whilst I've been attending? Everybody friendly and no snobbery at all. I get grief for not attending and now grief for racking some matches up... Just keep your opinions to yourself.

Personally if there is any snobbery it's from people who attends the odd Welsh game.
How do you expect to get offered tickets when you dont go to many games.
To show you I'm a nice guy I will buy you a pint before the Spain game

You won’t get offered them, but If you head to the busier bars and ask enough people you’ll generally hit lucky at some point.

Thanks erasedcitizen - Looking forward to that - first qualifying draw since August 2015 i believe for WC 2018!! It's in the title...... Yes you are right (well July 2015) and the WC 2022 qualifying draw is sometime in July next year (currently says TBC), so two draws within 8 months.
