It would be good if this was a "sticky" post at travel.
Reasons for booking direct with Airline 1.) They communicate direct with you and not via agent 2.) Changes notified direct to you 3.) Flight changes it is their responsibility 4.) Unreasonable transfers i.e. 40 mins at a mega hub airport will not be allowed where as agent cares little
5.) They will refund you "EVENTUALLY" where as going via an agent they can / do / will take a cut 6.) Airlines more likely to stay in business
Agents can be great on long haul flights and may have access to fares you cannot get elsewhere as specials released to travel agents.
THERE IS ZERO REASON FOR STANDARD FLIGHTS IN EUROPE TO USE AN AGENT.

Can't argue with that. By all means use skyscanner to find the flight you want, and make sure you avoid kiwi.com

Agree mostly. Judging by the Martin Lewis survey last month, the top three 'hits' on most skyscanner searches are probably the worst for customer services: travel trolley and travelUp, followed closely by lastminute.com and Opodo Wizz Air have been fantastic with me recently (and for the last four years). Also, can't fault Transavia, who refunded my money in March within a week, without even asking me ... Although loads of bad press for their mother company KLM/Air France... www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2020/05/mse-travel-survey-results/

Love Skyscanner and link through them to Airlines occasionally so they a bit of a return but they are clear they are NOT a travel agent just a Search engine.

Not waiting any longer 🏴 Pay the extra and get the full refund option if you can. I don't see the likelihood of this going ahead next year as any better than 50/50. Available options for getting there will have diminished and the cost will be up considerably. I'll still go but expecting it to be good bit dearer to get there.

Wow, hats off to those booking for next year already. I can’t see past getting nearly £800 of refunds for this years tournament and a holiday at the end of July.
Not even looked at next years tournament despite keeping all my tickets, agree with the comment a few host nations may change before next June.
Although I have looked at flights to Helsinki, Dublin and Sofia that are all incredibly cheap at the moment.

Any flights booked while the FCO ban is in place are apparently not covered by travel insurance, even though the flights are a year away.

Pretty much book late almost always hence managed to escape the mayhem and got credits from Wizzair to use.
Despite there being a great rush of people wanting to book flights for next year I will only book next year in the spring, yup probably cost me more but thinking of the worry and hassle thate people went through it is not such a bad option.
