Fair enough regarding the age, but he hasn't put a foot wrong when called up imo. And surely we need some experience (however much) with 5 games coming up? He did pull out of a squad not long ago, under strange circumstances though. It's all quite peculiar. Page mentioned before about not wanting to make many drastic changes to his squad - keeping things consistent, yet he's now leaving out the likes of J Lawrence and Lockyer in favour of some newer names. Just......odd. He definitely has put a foot wrong on quite a few occasions - the game against Croatia comes to mind where he was mostly at fault for the goal. He's been in and out of Luton's team even with them having loads of injuries, pretty sure he's not first choice there. However, I agree with you that ordinarily we would expect a mid to lower level championship defender to be part of the squad. That squad where he dropped out without it ever being explained may well have been the deciding factor. One can only imagine how few caps James Collins would have acquired with Page in charge! 😂

Judging by this pic, Denham looks a tad taller than 5'11" <button disabled="" class="c-attachment-insert--linked o-btn--sm">Attachment Deleted</button> Has Dan James visited Mr Bean's barber?

Perhaps Denham has hit a growth spurt?

Gone on season long loan to Dundee United in the Scottish Championship. Shame they couldn't find an SPL club for him, but if he does well there he might earn a better move.

And this is the player that Page called up to a camp instead of seasoned ch'ship and League 1 regulars. Shows how far off his judgement of talent is. Anyway, good luck to Denham, hope it goes well for him, however this is quite underwhelming.

I doubt he was comparing the talent of Denham against Lockyer or whoever it was missing out on the squad at the time. It was more a case of bringing in a 20yo prospect to have a look at him up close during the Nations League games, which he didn't play and was never going to. It's the same rationale for bringing through other youngsters that are yet to play - the idea being that we embed them within the group so that when they are called upon, they're better prepared for it.

So it's better to bring someone in that is never going to play than having someone playing lots of games at a good level and might be really useful when called upon, bizarre. And do Welsh footballers get free coach travel to Dundee or something

Recalled by Cardiff, doesn't seem to have played at all at Dundee United Definitely not recalled… Dundee begged CCFC to take him back. He’s played 43 mins all season ( and that was in the Scottish cup). Very poor loan spell for all parties. No idea where he goes from here. County maybe? 🤔

Following his disastrous loan at Dundee Utd, he's now on loan at Sligo Rovers in Ireland and has started really well, being named in the LoI's team of the week twice already. Not the best standard of league, but good to see him playing regularly after barely kicking a ball for 18 months.

Sam Bowen style career slide although Sam seems to be doing fairly well on loan at Wealdstone
