Young Swansea defender has joined Newport on loan for the season

I'd have liked to see him stay at the Swans. A centre-back seemed to be a priority anyway, but even then I could see him getting first team opportunities, especially considering Joe Rodon's pretty injury prone.
Hopefully he establishes himself as a regular and gets plenty of football, with the view to stepping up to our first team next year when Guehi goes back to Chelsea and Rodon potentially steps up a division.

I think he'll end up getting plenty of time there, which is great. Hopefully he can then establish himself with the Swans in about a years time

Won the penalty for the first goal as Newport dump Watford out of the EFL Cup

Also won a red card by standing still whilst a Watford player very deliberately thrust an elbow into his face.
Interesting to see that Newport have been winning a higher percentage of possession in recent games. I wonder if Flynn is taking the club in a more progressive direction? Cooper would be a good player to help manage such a transition, as he's always impressed me on Wales U21 duty.

Great performance against Newcastle fair play, one excellent last ditch tackle on the stretch timed to perfection

Yeah, some brilliant defending. He seemed to get dragged out of position a lot, but that could have been the way he'd been instructed to play. Shame about his horrible pen at the end. But a very encouraging display nonetheless

But a very encouraging display nonetheless Listening to the co commentator and a conversation with Flynn before the game ,he seemed to be playing v deep midfielder and centre back as and when the situation demanded,I suppose I'm looking through my red tinted spectacles, but saw it more that he was putting out fires rather than being pulled out of position. But either way an impressive performance,my only doubt is his size he was a giant at u16's but looks a little lightweight now but hey he's only 19.

If he played in the Prem League one day. Would he be the first player born in the Bridgend area to be top flight footballer Since Blaengarw’s Billy Rees played for Spurs 49-50?
Did Cefn Cribwr’s Sean McCarthy play for Oldham in the top flight? Yes I think he did.

Great news for young Brandon Cooper being named as the EFL Young Player of the Month for October. Having a great season at Newport, and another CB off the Swans' production line.

Big player for the Bridgend area if he makes it to the top. Sean McCarthey was the last with Oldham but no Welsh cap because of Huges, Rush and Saunders era.

Brandon has been recalled by Swansea. Bad news for Newport but would be great if he gets game time at that level playing with Cabango and Roberts

They clearly plan to give him game time, otherwise they'd let him stay at Newport for the season. If he helps the Swans get promoted he could go from a League Two player to a Premier League player in the space of 6 months! Bad news for Newport, but they clearly have a good thing going there, and you'd hope losing 1 player wouldn't derail their campaign

Bennett, Naughton and Latibeaudiere are all currently injured, so it's likely that at least one of these have a longer term injury than suspected for Cooper to be recalled. The danger is that Cooper won't get much game time once everybody is fit. It's up to him to grab the opportunity.
He's very likely to feature against Stevenage in the cup this weekend given that Cooper is likely to take the opportunity to rest players due to the demanding run of fixtures.

I'd be shocked if he wasn't starting against Stevenage. If he plays well enough, depending on injuries he could be starting against Barnsley.
I think it's good news, he might not establish himself as a regular but I think he'd proven he's good enough to play higher than League 2. He's got a few months to bed in to the side, and if we don't go up then from next season he can be pushing for a starting place in the side once Guehi goes back to Chelsea.

On the bench for swansea today back from injury, maybe a big part to play. Solid defender with a huge ceiling, will become a prem regular in the future i think.

Brandon Cooper called up to the seniors That’s heartwarming news. I’d throw him straight in for Mexico. I’d imagine him and Cabango have played with each other countless times for Swansea and the age groups

Well deserved. He has gathered a lot of experience from playing for the County, although he did get an ankle injury when on one of his first training sessions back with the Swans. His lack of game time recently will be the only factor in him not playing a lot Vs Mexico, but I hope Page sees through that issue and gives him half hour.

I'd imagine the plan is to pair them up again for Mexico

A clean sheets and a few good reviews for him on twitter. Another who I'd call into the squad if he becomes a regular now

I think he'll be trusted more by Russell Martin then Latibeaudiere will be at centre-back, due to how much more comfortable he is on the ball.

Its really good to see that we may develop a bit of depth at centre back and full back over the coming years.
Its all about game time and that is perhaps the biggest worry in respect to our full back options in particular.
