Flying out Heathrow to Helsinki on Saturday morning. Having night in Helsinki before getting ferry across to Tallinn Sunday. Fly back from Tallinn in the Tuesday. Total flights were about £150 (at time of booking).

Anybody know the best area to stay and any meet up points for the Sunday night and match day. Thanks I saw an email about pre/post match drinks at The Pub with No Name. It's right in the center and if memory serves, was opened by a Scot who went to Tallinn for the infamous match where Estonia didn't turn up and the Scots kicked off with no opposition on the field.

Is anyone actually against ticket collection? What reason would people be against it (apart from not being able to harvest points)? If the FAW set up collection at multiple times I don't see an issue. I must admit that I do find ticket collection a bit of a pain in the arse sometimes but overall it’s not a biggie. On some occasions it’s eaten into my drinking time, haha.

Has anyone booked the ferry from Helsinki to Tallinn? Seems a few options available ... Wondered what others planning this route have done?
Thanks

Thanks Just booked for me and my dad now Sunday afternoon ferry from Helsinki to Tallinn, returning Tuesday. Used the directferries website to compare and book for about £20 each. Bargain I thought, as long as we can cross the sea border with no issues.

Has anyone fully got their head around the COVID travel rules? I read somewhere that we’d just need proof of vaccination to travel there and back with a day 2 test booked after arrival back to UK. Now I’m reading the gov website myself I see Estonia is on the amber list and requires a test completed three days prior to travel back to the UK plus day 2 test (this regardless of vaccination status).
Can anyone explain what we need to do? I live in England, travelling with my old man who lives in Wales, both flying Manchester to Helsinki return, ferry to Tallinn for the match.

Your first paragraph is what you need to do, you just need proof of vaccination (digital pass or letter, either is fine), the passenger locator form (this can’t be done until 3 days before you arrive in Estonia, not sure about Finland) and as you said the Day 2 PCR when you come back. The rules are changing but not until 4th October which is why the gov website hasn’t changed just yet but don’t worry, you’re completely right with just the day 2 PCR, testing wise.

Aye same, have nightmares already of my phone suddenly dying or border control being funny unless you’ve got a letter. Sure it’ll be fine like but you never know in these strange times.

If flying back to English airport but then coming home to Wales, do we need to pcr test please?

Having your day 2 pcr booked for when you get back should be good enough. You won't need a test before you fly back if double jabbed. Wales are bringing their rules in line with England but couldn't find an effective date for these changes from the articles I read. England are clear it's from the 4th . I'm in the same boat so hope I'm not giving out bad advice here and happy to be corrected!

Usually email on purchase you need this to fill in uk passenger locator form. You'll prob have to do this in Estonia as 48hrs before. So don't get too pissd and forget

Just checking here, but am I right in assuming there is no need for a passenger locator form to be completed for Estonia. I can’t find one.

Yes. I have now seen that a Estonian Government form has to be filled in and sent to them in the days before arrival. You will need your passport number and hotel address

Great, thanks for that! I’ve booked my day 2 test on return to UK, I can’t seem to find anything re passenger locator form for Finland, border guard website just says that double vaccinated travellers from any country need proof of vaccination - that seems to be it. Unless anyone has read different?

Unless anyone has read different? There is a passenger locator form for Finland if your staying there. I think the Finnish website was Finnentry or something like that. If your just transiting through the airport many countries don’t require one. Not sure about Finland.
