Such a bright future this lad, not long till he gets his cardiff opportunity. A lot of exciting welsh lads coming through at cardiff at the moment.

Apologies if there's a thread already, couldn't find one. 19 and part of the Cardiff Under 23 side who have started well this season, winning their first three and was specifically mentioned by Mick McCarthy as one of the reasons Josh Murphy was allowed to leave. Scored 2 in yesterday's victory over Sheffield Wednesday, including this free kick.

What a strike. His technique is Wilson-esque

Difficult for me to comment on Ccfc, because I don't watch ot follow them. But MM doesn't strike me as the type of manager to nurture or develop young talent.
His team's always remind of your typical streetfighters, who can always get a result over technically far superior sides.

Decent strike that, at 19 and at a Cardiff side without any real decent wingers I'd hope that he breaks into the first team picture soon, I'd take it that that's the plan if Murphy is at Preston.

Another goal for Evans today (a penalty that he won himself) makes it 4 in 4 games for the U23s so far this season. He's had a couple of cameos for the first team over the past couple of weeks, but it's surely only a matter of time before he gets a proper chance considering how blunt and uninspired Cardiff's attack has been.

He was impressive again today. Cardiff's u23s play a far more attractive style using the same system, Steve Morison should be giving Mick some pointers! The Welsh midfield duo of Patten & King were very impressive against Sheffield United's midfield 3. A third clean sheet in 4 games for George Ratcliffe as well with Cardiff extending their 100% record so far this season. The first team may be uninspiring but the u23s offer some hope

Taken from Wiki Morison earned his first coaching badge at Protec Football Academy during his playing career.[4] He subsequently earned his UEFA Pro Licence and, after retiring as a player in October 2019, began coaching at the academies of former clubs Northampton Town and Millwall.[100][110] He was appointed as the lead coach of the Cardiff City under-23 team on 10 February 2020, joining up with Cardiff manager Neil Harris, who he played alongside and was managed by at Millwall. It's him

Yeah, he came in when Neil Harris was appointed and was kept on even after Harris' sacking. Speaks very well and has the u23s playing an attractive style of football that you perhaps wouldn't associate with him He played a fair bit for us from memory and even managed a goal?

Yeah he was a fairly significant part of Speed's side at one point. Promising stuff on the management front. MM won't be there for long - 2 seasons at most I'd imagine, so potentially an opportunity there for Morrison to step up if he continues to do well

The reason I remembered was because it was one of only about 5 Wales games I’ve watched sober in 35 years haha

Strong cameo from the bench last night, not afraid to take on his man and put in some wicked crosses. Deserves more game time on the back of that.

A decent performance last night, a wonderful ball set through Giles for Cardiff's best chance and he got back well. Very quick. He was unfairly judged to have handled the ball when a good burst of speed put him through on goal. Decent corner taker as well.

This is a bit of a weird one, going on loan to Linfield in Northern Ireland

He comes from the same South Wales mining village I grew up in Wales - Brithdir. His mum's surname was Henderson I believe - maybe they have some links to Ireland!

Strange tranfer, but hopefully a few months of playing against cloggers in NI will develop his physicality so that he's ready to have an impact at Cardiff next season. I'd have preferred he stay and be given a chance, but Steve Morison seems to have completely given up on our youth already so perhaps it's for the best that he leave and play elsewhere.

Weird one. I’d kind of understand if he went to the League of Ireland.
Although Linfield are the biggest team in the North doubt there’s any discernible differences between the Cymru Prem and the IFA’s competition.
Cardiff seem really poor in loan move choices for the youngsters in the main.

Cardiff seem really poor in loan move choices for the youngsters in the main. To be fair I think Northern Ireland is a bit higher in the league rankings and about half the clubs are professional Cardiff's deadline day seemed very rushed, I think they wanted to keep everyone just in case targets weren't signed and once they were they took whatever offers came in. Patten for instance went to Hereford, he's probably better than that level. Evans has played Championship football and looked decent, he's certainly better than Northern Ireland Though now I guess they have the chance to prove it, I think Evans holds onto the ball too long so getting kicked up and down the park by grown men may loosen that habit
