Wanted to start a thread for this, as sometimes people miss the information and come back wondering about certain players
So I will update this list to include players who were rumoured to be eligible, but turned out not to be
Please do respond with players I've not listed & I will update the list accordingly...

Of all those you've listed, only Archer I feel slightly disappointed by. More the hope than anything else. Young, striker, on the bench for Villa. Shame.

I think Hughes, Bowen and Jones would make our current squad with ease. Williams and Davies very close too. Can't think of anymore than those tbh. Bowen is good enough to play for England, he's been a consistently decent performer for West Ham under Moyes and linked with moves to supposedly bigger clubs. With that in mind and the fact that there are a number of players in Southgate's set up that will start to plateau very soon I think he'll stick it out and wait for a call up. Will Hughes is a really tidy player and probably better than 75% of our midfield options if you count Ampadu as a midfielder. Levitt may one day become a better player but right now Hughes is better than every central midfielder we have barring Ramsey and Ampadu, better than the player Allen now is and better than Morell. Curtis Jones has played for England at every level barring the full team, he's getting games at Liverpool. Young + Getting Games At Liverpool = Southgate call up within a year for some friendlies before getting used in a qualifier. I'd love the quality of either of those three added to our squad but unless Will Hughes decides he wants to play for Wales I think it's sadly never going to happen. |

I'm sure some people were adamant a few years ago that James Wilson from Man Utd was eligible. He wasn't, and is now playing for Port Vale.
Maybe they were confused with defender James Wilson, who I'm surprised hasn't had more caps for us tbh.

As per the original post, these are players who were rumored to be eligible, but have since been confirmed as ineligible. |

This is going by memory, but iirc Tom Davies (of Everton) is not eligible for Wales. Ds can probably confirm

I didn't actually know about Hooper or Heaton though so that is interesting Players like Bowen & Pickering have come up a few times and people weren't aware they were ruled out so I thought it might be useful |
