Well that couldn't have one much better! Yeah, pretty sure it wasn't fixed! I don´t know about that. Scotland wouldnt be a bad draw if it wasnt for the fucking "british derby" bollocks. Austria is not easy but then no game apart from Macedonia would have been easy. My big concern is whether Arnautovic still plays for Austria, he tore us apart in that away game in the WC campaign. Home game in the final! With our home record that's a bit of a blow for the opposition but Scotland will no doubt point to ROI´s result against us and feel they could do the same. Potentially two home games away from a world cup. Haven´t been this close since we needed to beat Romania to qualify for USA 94.... |

This forum man, it was mass suicide after the Estonia home game and now everyone is celebrating before we've yet to play a semi final! It's all starting to feel like the ROI game where the hubris bubbled over and we got humbled (and beaten up) by a bunch of donkeys  We might have avoided Italy and Portugal but there isn't any reason for jubilation yet until the job is done imo. Winning the next two games is a big ask as there is plenty of opportunity for things to go wrong, not least injuries to our players in the run up. |

I agree, our form at the moment is decent and it's a fair point that njdragon makes about Austria finishing 4th, but in a one off semi-final they could raise their game considerably and give us problems in the way that cup tie-esque games can bring the best out of players. I'd say < 50% is about right, maybe not for a group format, but this knockout context could be a leveller. The Scotland booking situation suddenly becomes a lot more relevant also. |

There are no easy games in these playoffs but we’ve had probably the best chance we’ve ever had. Let’s just enjoy it today. |
