Interested in this as a first away game. Poland still has a huge hooliganism problem, right? That only revolves around club football. Their national team is more family orientated and there is very rarely any trouble.

It should be a cracking atmosphere, cant wait. The main square of Wroclaw is huge so plenty of space for drinking and singing from both sets of fans. Its a 20 min tram ride from there to the ground that was purpose built for when they hosted the Euros.
Shades of Bordeaux!

Someone said there is a large tram terminus at the stadium too , memories of Tram 22 out Prague come flooding back .

Does anyone know how many tickets we'll get for this game? I've paid up to go but know I'll be in one of the later groups to qualify for tickets so wondering if I'll need to sit in the home end with my colours hidden.

I reckon you'll be fine, the stadium has a capacity of about 45,000 which equates to us getting an away allocation in the region of 2,200. I'm more concerned that they might change the date of this match. If we manage to beat Austria next week it appears we will play the final early in June.

If FIFA use the first June window for the play off games then Scotland Ukraine will be during the Poland fixture and the final when we are due to play Netherlands at home.
That’s what I’m hoping they do anyway.

Gonna have to sack off Poland now unfortunately. If you're with RyanAir you can change those flights to another set if you want, free of charge (unless the new flights are more expensive).
Rescheduled my Netherlands flights with EasyJet, cost about £25 per flight and then a little on top as they were a bit more expensive but might be worth doing if you're flying with them.

Just done that myself with Easyjet, although I notice that they are shooting up in price already. Didn't know that you could change Ryanair, so thanks for the tip.

Me too - onto sorting my hotel out now to see if I can swap nights

Never mind your travel arrangements, what team do we send to Poland?
Do we play our strongest team, to prep for the play-off final? But that means they have to travel, and risk getting injured.
So do we send the kids out to Poland, to save the first team from travel fatigue and knocks?

Yes, we play the lads who featured against the Czech Republic, and didn't do too badly. They'll be good enough to beat Poland. Mepham & Cabango v Lewandowski = no contest.
Then on to Cardiff on June the 5th with our first eleven...

Perfect.

If anyone is with LOT Polish, try their call centre open 24 hours, I waited for 45 mins and have moved one of my flights free of charge.

So do we send the kids out to Poland, to save the first team from travel fatigue and knocks? Probably a mix of those who have recently been in the starting XI for a competitive game and those who played against the Czech Republic. So certainties for me are Hennessey, Cabango, Norrington-Davies, Thomas, Colwill, Matondo. I'd also definitely like to see Levitt play, it was a shame he was ill when we played the Czechs. There are also a few who may be in contention to start in the final but if they don't I would certainly pick for Poland i.e. Morrell, Mepham, Johnson.

I would go for this:
Hennessey/Ward (whichever starts the final)
Sorba Meps Rodon RND Gunts
Morrell Levitt
Colwill
Johnson Matondo (Moore if fit)
Tough ask for the midfield, but we need to rest allen and rambo.
Not sure on gunts at LWB, but I liked RND at LCB against Mexico and think that provides a much better balance than having cabango in there.
I would then bring on bale, ampadu and cabango for the last 30 in place of matondo, levitt, and rodon. I think that strikes a decent balance between resting the ones we need to, giving gametime to others who need it, limiting the injury risk to key players, and still being competitive.

Hennessey Mepham-Rodon-RND Sorba-Levitt-Morrell-James Jonny Brennan-Matondo
This would be my ideal. Would still love to see James as a WB. He never gets injured, and I would take him off at around 50 mins anyway. Feels like a game for Jonny. Need to win free kicks & take the pressure off. If Tyler or Kieffer is fit I would start them ahead of Matondo. I'd happily take a point

His energy will be key in that game imo. For Poland I’d go for- Hennessey Wes Burns Lockyer Cabango RND Sorba Levitt M.Smith (will hopefully give him a confidence boost and has played well for us before) Colwill Rabbi Broadhead Not even gonna risk Brennan- I’d have him as the first sub in the Final. Starts the last 3 NL games, fitness permitting. Broadhead is an excellent finisher, and when fit, as scored goals for Sunderland. I think he deserves a chance - particularly in an extended squad. On the event that young Jordan James is back in the mix (doubt it though) we should bring him on in the 90th minute of every NL game to tie him to us and make sure he’s unable to escape. Bring a few more youngsters and fringe players (e.g. Fin Stevens, Jonny, Tom Lawrence and Sparky). Unless game-time is judged to be imperative for a couple of the players that will start the final.

Logically this game is still in Wroclaw - but can't see anything official confirming this? UEFA website says TBC.

Sounds like a risk but I think it would be fine really. I can understand those who say rest everyone though I don't think we will see any new faces in the June camp, stability will be key to enabling this group to make history The eligibility rules have changed. 1 cap in the Nation's League wouldn't tie a player down, 4 caps of any kind is what's needed - can all be friendlies even! In regards to James's case - I think you are only permitted 2 switches at any age group level. So because he's switched to England if he switches back I believe he is tied to us. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the rule...but I'm pretty sure that's correct

I don’t get this idea of playing the reserves. Most of the players will have gone 3-4 weeks without competitive football before the WC play off final. Play mainly the first team and bring off the most important players after about 60 minutes (there are five subs). We need players in rhythm for the Scotland/Ukraine game

At the very least play the likes of Bale, Rodon, Mepham and the others who haven’t been getting game time. Whilst I realise that if any players get injured against Poland there will be criticism, the benefits of playing some game time outweighs the risk. Maybe rest the likes of Davies, James and Allen who are playing regularly.
