Netherlands: I'm reading that UK visitors need proof of vaccination to enter Holland. So any Wales fans have to be vaccinated? Anyone know how true this is - I'd guess the airport staff are going to be all over this? I'm OK but one of our group is going to have sort out his jab very quickly. They allow a certificate of recovery as well. From the UK gov advice: “If you’ve had COVID-19 in the past 180 days You are able to use the NHS COVID Pass to demonstrate proof of COVID-19 recovery when entering the Netherlands. The date of issue must be more than 11 days ago, and less than 180 days ago. A valid recovery certificate exempts you from the EU entry ban. Travellers should also carry a recovery declaration.” The NL certificate: www.rijksoverheid.nl/binaries/rijksoverheid/documenten/publicaties/2022/03/07/recovery-declaration-covid-19/recovery-declaration-covid-19-20220307-18.pdf

One of my group missed his booster and is only going due to the 180 day recovery rule. Very fortunate. Its easy to forget about covid atm, but I guarantee there's going to be welsh fans unable to gain access to the Netherlands.

Looking for a spare match ticket for Rotterdam. I will have been in the first phase for sales, my flights and hotels all booked ages ago, but like an idiot somehow completely missed the FAW email with the ticket announcement, and didn’t realise they were on sale till they’d sold out! (I blame Everton FC and the sleepless nights). Diolch.

Sorry if there is a thread for this
Anyone travelling to Netherlands and staying in Amsterdam. Train seems to be €35 return
There is a group of 7 of us, would anyone with a similar size group be interested in arranging a bus to the game and back? I don’t mind sorting in just looking for the numbers
Please add this to a thread if needed
Cheers

Staying in The Hague myself, so bus from Amsterdam to match not needed thanks.
However, if you are in Amsterdam on the night before the game, you may (or may not) be interested to know that the Rolling Stones are playing the Johan Cruyff Arena, home of Ajax FC!

Is Leigh not running a bus from Amsterdam to Rotterdam on the day of the game? Might be worth dropping him an email on leigh_wales@yahoo.co.uk to ask

Leigh cancelled his buses due to some issues he had with Rotterdam authorities. I know coz I was booked on it before it got cancelled.

I think we need to go again with a reasonably strong side on Tuesday, but it's going to be difficult. A few players did look tired last night. Roberts came off so I'd imagine he's incline to start, and I don't see any reason why we can't stick with the same back three - bar Davies perhaps.
Roberts - Mepham - Rodon - RND - Sorba
Wilson - Ampadu - Ramsey
Colwill - Johnson

Matondo, Joniesta, Levitt, Ben? We will have options.

Hard to pick a team as I feel it will entirely depend on fitness/assessment of the players workloads

Roberts - Mepham - Rodon - RND - Sorba Wilson - Ampadu - Ramsey Colwill - Johnson I think Ben Davies will be fine after coming off around the 70m mark yesterday, so I'd bring him in and play RND as a LWB. Sorba should get more minutes, but he's not a WB for me, particularly against the Dutch, and he doesn't really fit elsewhere as others have mentioned. So I'd just bring him on for the last 30 if we can. I don't like Colwill up front, he's never played well on the rare occassions he's played in that position. He tends to get bullied. His main strength is on the half turn, so if he is to start it would be in place of wilson for me. I'd probably start Bale with Johnson given he came off early and James needs a rest, with james coming on. Mark Harris might have some role to play too

My only issue with starting Johnson and Bale up front is that their both pretty guilty of not working THAT hard off the ball. Like someone else mentioned, is there a case for starting Bale deeper? But again, it's the lack of work rate that worries me. Bale will probably need to work harder playing deeper, and don't think he's capable of it.

I hope Neco plays. I doubt he has the best stats but I always feel like something could be about to happen when he's on. Must be amazing to watch him as a neutral.

The lack of work rate and effective press is definitely a concern, but I don't think Colwill would give us that - it's the main reason he hasn't been playing much for Cardiff after all. DJ is the only person we can bring in to give us that effective press, but we probably need to rest him for this one, and these games are partly about testing new combinations for the world cup. Johnson and bale haven't started together yet

Damn, Neco Williams ruled out too now, alongside the ones we sort of already knew: Allen, Morrell, Ward, RND (suspended) and Moore. So that's 3 or 4 first teamers out and another couple who are our first-choice back ups. With this in mind, I would go with
Hennessey Mepham-Rodon-Davies Roberts-Ampadu-Levitt-Burns Rambo Brennan-James
Bring on Sorba for Burns or Rambo (wherever we intend to play him) second half and Bale for James. We only have three games left before the world cup now, so should probably think about giving sub appearances to other fringe players - Harris instead of Brennan perhaps, and Colwill or Joniesta to come in again

Bloody hell, shame about Neco. Connor must be exhausted so surely can't start Tuesday. I'd still like to see D James tried at WB. He has the defensive attributes to play that role well. Page won't do it anyway.
Probably same formation as above, but I still wouldn't start Levitt! Smith instead.
I also don't think James and Brennan worked at all against Netherland home, so not sure if I'd start with them two up top again.
It may be worth a change in formation to utilise the players we actually have available:
Roberts - Mepham - Rodon - B Davies
Ampadu - Smith
Johnson - Ramsey - Colwill
James

But, I just think we've looked so much better since going to a back 5, particularly when it's been a 532 (not a fan of 523). Ben Davies has been a colossus, but he's a very average LB, so we would be losing a top CB for a mediocre LB. On Smith, I think we have a fairly good understanding of what he can do. Levitt is much more of an unknown quantity for me, where he's shown in some games that he can be a really good player (much better than smith), but then he's also had a few stinkers, whereas Smith is just a solid 5-7 out of 10 in each game. I think there's more merit in persisting with Levitt personally, to get him playing at the level we know he's capable of, but much more consistently.

I wouldn't mind something along the lines of:
Gunter-Mepham-Rodon-Davies-Burns --------Levitt---Ampadu-------- -------------Ramsey------------ Sorba---------------------Brennan
I would like to see Sorba & Johnson given a go in their natural position as split wide forwards.

Hennessey Mepham-Rodon-Davies Connor-Ampadu-Levitt-Burns Ramsey Bale-Brennan
Bring the likes of Sorba, James, Colwill on 2nd half

Expecting :-
Wayne C.Rob - Mepham - Rodon- Davies- Sorba Ampadu- Levitt Wilson Johnson - Matondo
Don't see Page risking Rambo and Bale again unless its close. James will have played a lot of mins.
Harris, Gunter/Burns, Smith, Colwill, Joniesta to come on as they are all vying for World Cup places

With regards to starting 11 i would use Brennan again as an impact player and start James. The difference is that Brennan has played i would think more than any other player this season as he has made 53 appearances for Forest. This may also account for why he has been unable to press as hard as James who has only played 35 for Leeds
