I would say until the last 2months of the season he did press better . The dynamics of the side changed a little when colback had to go and play as a wing back so the side was not so far up the pitch. Also we had to play catch up on games due to cup run and cancelled covid matches so i think we played 3 or 4 more games more than most sides over the last 6 weeks of the season so it was intense back to back matches very similar to how these nation league fixtures have been arranged.

Damn, Neco Williams ruled out too now, alongside the ones we sort of already knew: Allen, Morrell, Ward, RND (suspended) and Moore. So that's 3 or 4 first teamers out and another couple who are our first-choice back ups. With this in mind, I would go with Hennessey Mepham-Rodon-Davies Roberts-Ampadu-Levitt-Burns Rambo Brennan-James Bring on Sorba for Burns or Rambo (wherever we intend to play him) second half and Bale for James. We only have three games left before the world cup now, so should probably think about giving sub appearances to other fringe players - Harris instead of Brennan perhaps, and Colwill or Joniesta to come in again Sorba more than deserves a chance now. He was a top assister in the Championship and crosses the ball as well as anyone. He should be at the front of the que ahead of Burns not stuck on the bench hoping for a chance for 20 mins at the end. For goodness sake he is playing at a higher level at a much younger age than Burns! I appreciate Burns did OK versus Poland but he is not a world beater either. Harris - I personally have seen more than enough of him. He is not even Championship class let alone international class. Why keep giving him chances - we know if we need a goal against the Dutch or another decent team with 10 mins to go he is not going to change the game. Rather give Johnson as much game time and experience as we can ahead of the World Cup.uthles Time to be ruthless now. Page - please no Gunter for this game

Burns has found a new lease of life playing as a wing back these last couple of seasons, and really excels there. He's given glimpses that he can perform against high quality opposition in that position, so he's earned a chance to make his case further. I'm very keen for Sorba to get a chance too, but not convinced at all with him as a wing back. He's been given a couple of opportunities there - he came on away to czech, started away in estonia, and then started the friendly against czech at home. He struggled to have an impact on each occasion, and looked uncomfortable in that position. For this game, we have Neco and RND out, and I just feel Burns has made a better case for that LWB slot. The other option is Gunter of course, which I'm sure you would be thrilled with ha! Someone mentioned starting Sorba as one of the two split forwards, I think that's a decent shout. On Harris, I think you're just way too simplistic in your thinking. You only seem to be able to think in terms of the level they play at, or their numbers. You don't seem to appreciate the importance of having different skillsets in the squad, even if they're not necessarily the best players. It's always good to have players who can perform a certain role very well that can be brought in for a specific gameplan. The likes of Harris and even moreso Joniesta have shown that they can have an impact at this level, and offer a different skillset to our other squad members. I thought they were both really good against Poland and they both also came off the bench to win us the game against Belarus in the WC campaign.

Staying in The Hague myself, so bus from Amsterdam to match not needed thanks. However, if you are in Amsterdam on the night before the game, you may (or may not) be interested to know that the Rolling Stones are playing the Johan Cruyff Arena, home of Ajax FC! Concert now cancelled, apparently Mick Jagger has COVID.

Like the look of that lineup. The only weak point for me is Sorba at RWB, I don't think he can play well in that position.

no Rubin so only 11 subs incl two gk. Begs the question why we didn't invite an extended squad to start with like Poland (37 players)

Hope Denham gets on. Difficult for a rookie defender to be given minutes but see what happens.

What an interesting little lineup, Definitely a sit back and counter kind of team, reckon that Brennan and DJ can cause a few issues. I can't really work out what the dutch are going for, some of their elite players (De Ligt and De Jong) with fucking Vincent "I can't even score in Mexico" Jannsen up top.

Dutch looking a fair bit stronger than last week, particularly with Frankie De Jong starting. This is probably a game too far for us, I think it could be a difficult night unfortunately. Dan James will have started 5 games in 13 days after tonight. When you think about the amount of work he puts in each game too, he just has incredible stamina!

Probably too far but we have bags of pace with the wing backs and attackers so can see us being very dangerous on the counter. We also don't have a clown in goal so that should help things.

Like the retro anthem accompaniment! Shame about the shite fans chanting prior to the start.
Also, where's Nic Parry and Malcolm Allen?

Burns and Sorba really struggling unfortunately. Comical defending for the goal. I thought Rodon was at fault for letting him get the shot in, he just doesn't defend intelligently enough at times. Mepham was already blocking the angle off to the forward's left, and yet Rodon decides to sprint over 100mph, instead of just trusting Mepham to cover that angle and focus on preventing him from cutting in on the other side

Looks like it's going to be a bad night, but that elbow on Brennan was worthy of a red imo.
