Watford are set to make him their new manager. Could be yet another young(ish) Welsh manager at the top end of the championship go with the others, like Cooper he has history with coaching England youth too.
That being said, with it being Watford he’ll likely be sacked and managing in the national league by Christmas and this thread can sink without trace 😂

I see that FGR took to the news well:

I see that FGR took to the news well: /photo/1 Dale Vince is very much a character so this is entirely predictable. He loves a publicity stunt and for once it’s him that’s on the receiving end and he obviously doesn’t like it. Boo-hoo. That being said I don’t think anyone involved has covered themselves in glory in this episode but to be fair to Edwards for all the loyalty FGR claim to have shown him he’d be sacked in a heartbeat if they were struggling and the chance to hire a decent replacement came up. Managers don’t really owe loyalty to anyone because of the very nature of the industry.

That’s a massive jump from FGR to a prem yo-yo club. Good luck to him if he gets the job.

Tinpot club finally on the receiving end of a poaching. Justice doesn't get any sweeter than that.

Got one over the trigger happy club that sacked him, must have enjoyed that. Impressive stuff with Luton so far

Luton are run so well at the moment - a manager's dream - but obviously you still need to take advantage of it. Graeme Jones wasn't able to so well done so far to Rob Edwards.

29 years ago Scott Oakes broke my heart but I'm over it now, I'm loving what Luton are doing and long may it continue

Arranged marriage as a very young boy. I had the opportunity to switch when I was still about 7 or 8 but even then I knew that you make your bed with your first pick and back then West Ham were worse than Norwich and I didn't really like any of the Norwich fans near me who used to laugh at me in my Hammers shirt These days I don't really feel much for West Ham, the stadium move has removed a lot of emotional attachment that I had and, and this is going to sound a bit weird, I don't like London, a lot of East Londoners annoy me and a lot of West Ham fans annoy me so I feel less and less towards them each year it seems. Back in March 1994 though, as a 10 year old boy, my heart was broken when Steve Potts (father of Dan) mistrapped that ball and Scott Oakes career was about to peak! These days I loosely just follow the fortunes of a number of teams, West Ham first and foremost but the Newport story has always interested me and being born in Cardiff I almost reluctantly have a thing for them too, I've actually just bought the third shirt with Colwill on the back. My dad's family were/are all North Wales and a couple like Wrexham so from the Gary Bennett days I always kept an eye on them. Luton have found their way into my heart now along with Brentford and Ipswich, I just like good stories and watching potentially good stories unfold. That was a rather long and drawn out answer to your question, apologies, Scott Oakes, the swine!!!

Helps Luton to finish 3rd in the table. A really good season for them.
Ensures that Joe Taylor gets further minutes (70 of them) and Elliot Thorpe does too (36 minutes).
Now the tough ask of Sunderland in play-off semi and final against Coventry or Boro.

Does Edwards play a different system to Jones or has he continued with the same setup at Luton and using the same players ?

Obviously there’s is no guarantee he would have been interested, but it’s mad to think Rob Edwards was available when Cardiff sacked Morrison and we appointed Mark Hudson. 🤦♂️

Think you would need to be lobotomized to take on the Cardiff hotseat.
Absolute basket case of a club that in my eyes unless something drastic happens will be relegated next season.

Does Edwards play a different system to Jones or has he continued with the same setup at Luton and using the same players ? It's still a 3-5-2 and pretty direct (when Morris and Adebayo are your front 2 it makes sense). But that is what Edwards played at FGR anyway. It is certainly less direct than it was under NJ though, just a slight tinker. Albeit that you wouldn't have seen that on Tuesday night as we were possibly even more direct than peak-NJ as Sunderland had no recognised centre-halves so we had to exploit that.

It's interesting to me that Luton have picked up more points away from home this season having seen how much Kenilworth Road is an advantage to that playing style on Tuesday. The test now will be against Coventry who appeared similarly happy to play without possession, arguably similarly tactically smart, but appeared to have more quality on the ball when they did pick it up. Another mini storyline will be how Luton scored three goals in play-offs from corners but Coventry have such a strong record defending set-pieces as referenced last night.

Yeah, we kept chucking leads away at home under NJ this term. Our home form under Edwards has been as good as it should be. Cov's gameplan is to defend with seven and then let Hamer, Gyokeres & Godden (O' Hare pre-injury) to do something. Which, given how good those first two and O' Hare are especially, is a very good idea. Our biggest weakness is if the opposition have several technical dribblers who are capable of breaking the press and breaking our shape (see, Sunderland away).

Got to say I'm buzzing that one of Coventry or Luton will be in the Premier League. Neither were getting picked out for promotion at the start of the season and both massive underdogs
If it was Burnley, Sheff Utd & one of Sunderland/Boro that would have been quite a boring set of teams going up. The idea that one of Coventry/Luton will be up is very exciting - for the neutral there are no winners/losers from that game
