The manager Cardiff could have had but opted for Mark Hudson Two thoughts on this: - A manager who went from League 2 to 11 games at Championship level before being sacked isn't likely to be highly desirable and would be welcoming of another Championship job. This suggests Cardiff City could have pushed for a deal with Rob Edwards further. - Rob Edwards limped to League 2 promotion, got the boot after 11 games in the Championship and therefore was likely to be more selective of the next opportunity. Most managers don't get to struggle at two clubs back-to-back and still get a third chance. Sometimes Cardiff City fans online are all "well why didn't we go for Pep Guardiola?" which I don't think this is, but I still think it's another example of a manager who wouldn't be quick to say yes to us. And therin that lies the problem. What sort of managers are getable and want to come to a club where structure isn't 5-10% away from success and instead it's more like 20%+? And where no manager in recent history has been able to use the club as a stepping stone in their career? Luton are also shopping in market for not obviously desirable coaches, due to small budgets, but they're ready for success.

After watching the play-off finals, Sheff. W. and Barnsley look better than Luton.

I was disappointed with Coventry and Luton but quite impressed with Wednesday and with Barnsley considering they played with 10 men for such a long time, maybe Cardiff and Swansea should consider Mike Duff as their next manager.

What Luton have achieved is amazing, long may it continue. The downside to this is that, unless he's made enough money and fancies a less full on challenge, we're never getting him as manager.

Signed a new 4 year deal at Luton Sorry, but that’s absolutely ridiculous. He is laughing all the way to the bank.

To be fair, I don't think we'd look to sack him unless we looked like heading into league one.

Will be really interesting to see what Luton do next.
Championship looks really open right now but they won't flash the cash.
Leeds, Burnley, Coventry as early favourites, probably, but none of those are certs in same way previous editions of this league have had.
