Got a feeling that Brennan may emerge as the hero
He has not had the best of time in the Premiership but he stills looks accurate in what he does. He is an extremely intelligent player and makes great decisions.
The US will hopefully focus on Bale (the talisman), James (the speed merchant) and Moore (the man mountain). Feel like Brennan may have gone under the radar and he can bury a chance or take full advantage of an opportunity.
We will see
Will be interesting if he goes with Wilson or Morrell to partner Ampadu in the middle of the park
Just hope they do themselves justice!

The more I hear about the USA, the more I feel we need to play a 3-5-2. Sounds like their strongest area is the midfield, and they want to keep it in a deep area a lot before hitting it long. Ampadu/Ramsey/Wilson should be the midfield for me and we should challenge them in there, then hit them on the break with Bale and DJ. If it doesn't work then Kieffer can come on

Surely Kieffer has to start with the form he's in though. With just half decent service he's going to cause all sorts of problems.

I've seen a picture of Pulasic celebrating with "It's called soccer!" Written on his baselayer. Would love Bale to score, lift his shirt up and it says "It's called Pel Droed!". Or maybe "It's called Cymru""It's called Eryri"...

Quiet on here this morning........
Not going to lie, I'm feeling a bit indifferent at the moment. Hopefully that'll change once England kick off this afternoon. I know it may be better for us that England beat Iran, but I'd love it if they drop points, especially after all the trash talk on social media.

Feel like Moore should start with his form, although apparently one of their possible CB’s may struggle against a fast forward

Surely Kieffer has to start with the form he's in though. With just half decent service he's going to cause all sorts of problems. I think the decent service bit might be the problem. We get nothing from our left and Roberts on the right isn't great at crossing. So we rely on a Johnson or Bale for a deeper/narrower cross. I really wish we could find a left footed good left wing back and move Neco to the right.

I dont think he's put a foot wrong since taking over from gunter, one of our hardest workers, scores goals and he's one of the first names on the team sheet. I dont think Neco would automatically oust him. I saw someone suggest sorba play over him a few days ago.

It's been comparative tumbleweed on here for a few days now, considering our first World Cup in 64 years is about to begin. I'm guessing a lot of the regulars have found new platforms to share footie gossip on? Or they're all actually out there in Qatar draining their bank balances...? Idk.

A heads up that England fans have struggled to get in due to issues with the FIFA ticketing app. Good luck to those going later

I wonder how much the time of year plays a part too. I expect there are plenty who would rather be watching their club sides right now and just canMt get excited about such a problematic World Cup for all the various reasons. Regardless of everything else it just seems odd, or fake, to me to be having a World Cup in November, sandwiched into the club season, like I’m imagining it.

Yeah it doesn't really have a World Cup feel. I would even say that the tournament needed a big game yesterday to whet the appetite and what we got was the literal definition of men against boys and that seems to have put another nail in the coffin of how bizarre Qatar is as a host country. Quite possibly the weakest hosts ever from a footballing sense never mind anything else. The tournament quickly needs a hum-dinger of a game to capture the imagination in the same way Spain v Portugal lit up Russia.

Would have gone for Ward over Hennessey
Hennessey did not look sharp in our last 2 games and seem to have trouble getting to the floor quickly. Hope we don't regret playing an in form Ward
They mentioned Ramsey passed a fitness test? What is that about?

Think they seem Moore as more of a weapon versus Iran, especially after today's showing by their defence

I think you have a pretty good battle hardened team, harder than the US one. The Euro experience will work in your favour. Fingers crossed.
Anyway, that's enough of my shite.
