QPR Under-18s reporter Len Harvey has once again been taking a closer look at Rangers' current crop of rising stars. This week, Alfie Tuck comes under the spotlight...
Age: 16
Position: Midfield
From: Hampton and Richmond
Joined QPR: Aged 8
Pre-match meal: Protein porridge, a banana and lots of water
Nickmame: Tucky
Pre-game song: Any music and then I'm ready
How did you get scouted?
I got scouted by QPR while playing in a tournament which we won for my local grassroots team.
What are your strengths as a player and what do you need to work on?
My strengths are passing and receiving under pressure and range/variety of passes to frontline players - as well as reading the game as a midfielder. What I need to work on is knowing when to play less touches in the right areas of the pitch.
What’s the best aspect of being a QPR player?
The best aspect of playing for QPR is coming into work every day and trying to improve in a professional environment around the first-team around.
Who’s your favourite player or inspiration?
My favourite players are Xavi and Iniesta as they were a joy to watch when they played together and started the tiki-taka playing style. They were inspirational to watch when playing football at a young age.
Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?
In five years' time, I want to play for my country Wales in the 2026 World Cup. I also see myself playing at a high level in first-team football, hopefully in the Premier League.
If there was one thing you could change about football, what would it be?
I would take VAR out as it slows the game down and disrupts the flow of the game.
Which stadium in the world would you most like to play in and why?
I want to play at the Principality Stadium which is the national stadium of Wales. I would love to play in front of the home Wales fans and experience the atmosphere of the stadium.
Highlight of your career so far?
The highlight of my career so far would be making my international debut for my country, Wales. Also, another highlight would be playing for Wales against Spain in which I scored the winning penalty.
