People are calling it out on Twitter as ‘flat’. I wasn’t there but it is a bit worrying. I would take a guess and put it down to World Cup performance. Such a disappointment. It was a sell out so what else can it be?

Think it could be a few factors. Dissatisfaction with the world cup and the general slow tempo are certainly two.
However, I think the main factor is that we have different expectations these days after years of being the underdog, welsh fans now turn up waiting to be entertained rather than getting involved to help the atmosphere. It was a game against a so-called lesser team.
We can expect a similar atmosphere against Armenia and improved atmospheres against Croatia and Turkey where hopefully there will be more riding on the game.

I was there, it was flat but did notice a lot more children there.. FAW getting the next generation of fans through the door and offering tickets to football clubs so sell out against Latvia on a tuesday night.
It was the children with their phones, nothing wrong with that they are kids.
Not sure why people are so angry about it, we all started out supporting wales somewhere

Tbh it wasn't all that different to the atmosphere against Estonia (H). It was just against Estonia the crowd was getting more vocal/edgy/nervous the longer it stayed 0-0 and that whipped people up a bit Because we got the early goal yesterday the same thing didn't happen late in the game as we didn't need whip the boys up - we were cruising As others have posted, Tuesday after work against the bottom seeds, was never going to match the hype of Croatia away either Furthermore there weren't any Latvia fans to compete with really I wouldn't worry, the hype will build as the campaign goes on. Croatia the boys will need us more and Turkey to finish will be a huge game - expect amazing atmospheres for those

The next game is a Friday night in the middle of June, so pretty much a carnival atmosphere.
Then both Croatia & Turkey will sell out the away end & that will always create a better atmosphere.

Trio stood behind me in the Canton were having calm chat throughout the game, couple in front of me stood silently. No issue with this but surely they'd be happier in Ninian/Grandstand if this is what they wanted to do?
Atmosphere always better on weekend games because more Gogs and West Walians can make it down which increases noise volume. I think yesterday was a sign that we can't presume that we'll always have a good atmosphere and fans need to turn up ready to play their part too starting by getting into stadium early and wearing red.
However, it was only the day of the game that it was sold out. It might have been a bit quieter than normal but 33,000 on wet Tuesday night is very welcome.
P.S. not going to comment again on Canton upset with children in Family Stand. Until players say they don't like it, that was bizarre and disappointing. We're better thn that.

We’re in the Ninian Stand near the Canton end and there were a lot more families there. Given fans from Mid Wales and North Wales have to travel a long way on some poor roads Im not surprised the atmosphere was different.

Despite being a sellout Canton was very quiet before the game. Atmosphere wasn't amazing but not that bad. I'm guessing a lot of those who live further afield found the cost, time off and travelling a bit much for Latvia on a Tuesday, especiallyif they were in Split. Wouldn't be surprised if a lot of season tickets were sold to people who wanted to take heir kids to see the WC squad.

Once the Racecourse has a bigger capacity we can play some games there, spreading the games around the grounds will probably help to make each one seem more special, I hope.

I mean to be fair we have little to no decent chants at the moment.
It's literally du du du to Men of Harlech as no one knows the words, the National Anthem which you can only really sing once or just using a 70s or 80s song and just replacing each word of the song with a players name.
Yma o Hyd and Calon Lan are good though. Hymms and Arias is a Swansea song. Great little one that.

I compared it to Euro 2016. The atmosphere for the first 3 group games was absolutely unbelievable. As soon as we were the favourites against NI in the last 16, atmosphere changed completely. It was quiet and nervy.

It was quiet and nervy. To me it never felt nervy, there was no doubt that we would win. The possession was 70+% to us and even though Latvia had their chances, i never really saw the result in doubt. We controlled the game from the start, passed it back and fore a little to much (the welsh way) I put it down to lots of kids in attendance, i saw kids as young as about 3 and lots leaving early. Probably a good effort from the FAW to sell out the stadium against Latvia. We've been spoilt!

I don’t know if this had an effect but apparently there was traffic chaos and I certainly saw many people enter the stadium after kick off.
I suspect it’s got a lot to do with expecting to win

No cause for concern yet, we are a squad and fan base in transition. A lot of our songs were for players who have retired or solely for away games (Wales Away aha aha was strange trying to get that going at home). I didn't think it was that bad on Tuesday from my side of the Canton....personally I was struggling a bit and left my voice in Split.
I'm sure Waka Waka can get reworked for Germany.
Men of Harlech is a strange one. In my view much better with words but I feel club lines are divided on this one and it's always so half hearted with words and then gets drowned out with unimaginative duh duh duhs.

Even tho Calon Lân hasn't quite caught on yet, I feel like that's the next one along the Welsh songs pipeline. Not everyone sang Yma o Hyd until Dafydd Iwan came along
Sometimes it just takes the stars to align for something to catch on. And I think eventually Calon Lân will get there

It took us 2 hours to get from Carmarthen to the stadium which was incredibly frustrating. I normally leave the Carmarthen area about 4.45 for a 7.45 kick off to allow for the traffic around Swansea, Port Talbot and the Cardiff West junction. Tuesday I left about 5.45 as I had work commitments, the traffic for the Cardiff Bay turn off was slow moving and queuing all the way back to Junction 34, it was also gridlocked all the way down the A2332 to the CCS stadium. I’ve never seen it that bad before. On the way back, roads were clear and I was in the house by 11.15

We usually leave around 5 - 5.30 normally, however we left at 4.30 because we had hospitality tickets and meals were being served around 6 ish. We didn't get to the hospitality entrance till 6.45, so took over two hours to get there, approx an hour longer than normal. There was congestion around Pont Abraham, Swansea and Port Talbot and then we saw that J34-J33 was gridlocked on google maps, so went off at J34 and took the back roads into Culvershouse Cross - roads were single tracked in some places! Absolute nightmare.

The fact it was a Tuesday definitely had an effect I’d say. We got to Cardiff at 2pm and the pubs were quieter than normal for a match day..
We need some new songs. Songs like ‘Ain’t nobody like Joe Ledley,’ , super Joniesta and ‘Hal Robson Kanu’ have all gone and we haven’t really replaced them.

That would’ve pushed traffic elsewhere. I got caught up in slow moving traffic westbound at J32 Coryton.

Left Carmarthen same time as usual and missed the first 5 minutes of the game, first time it’s ever happened! Yma o hyd and Hen Wlad fy Nhadau are a bit slow beat, and repetitive now? The anthem used to be spontaneous but it’s sung every game now, I guess it’s not a bad thing but deffo could do with some fresh chants/songs. Like others have said it was never going to be rocking on a Tuesday night!
