Fortunately, the impact of a player receiving a caution is not as serious as it is for World Cup Qualifiers. Article 54.02 of the Regulations of the UEFA European Football Championship says: "in the qualifying competition, players and team officials are suspended for the next competition match after three cautions, as well as after the fifth and any subsequent caution" Here is the link. I will post later the position from the first round of games. |

How many yellows do we have. Wilson and Ampadu, anyone else? Good chance we'll lose Ampadu towards the end I'd say, he seems to typically get a yellow every other game.

To be fair to Ampadu he just does go in for a lot of challenges and they're usually very good challenges. He won loads against Latvia
Are there many ball winning midfielders in the world now who don't get frequent yellows?

Ampadu is definitely improving when going in for the ball now, he's filling out too, he's going to be an absolute monster in a few years, 6ft 1 of midfield general.

In terms of what Moore will get, the regulations are not very clear. 54.01 says:
"As a rule, a player or a team official sent off from the field of play and/or its immediate surrounds, including the technical area, is automatically suspended for the next match in the competition. In case of serious offences, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body is entitled to augment this punishment, including by extending it to other competitions."
At grassroots, Violent Conduct is typically a 3 match suspension.

We're lucky that players need to accumulate three cautions before receiving a ban in this campaign, but there's a good chance we'll lose one of them against Armenia or Turkey. On another note, Ampadu seems to have become much more disciplined recently. Pretty sure he was averaging more than a yellow every other game for Spezia last season, but he's only on 1in 5 for us so far, and he looked very calm when everything was kicking off with the JJ incident against Latvia |

Following on from the win out in Riga.....
After 5 games, Wales has 3 players who have a single caution: Ampadu, Wilson & Roberts. Of more concern is that Mepham & Neco are on 2 cautions. The red cards were covered in a previous update. Morrell will be unavailabe for the Croatia game. I am uncertain about Moore who has served 2 games thus far.
After 4 games, Croatia has 5 players who have a single caution
After 5 games, Turkey has 9 players who have a single caution and 2 players on 2 cautions and Merih Demiral will miss their next fixture
After 5 games, Armenia has 6 players who have a single caution and 2 players on 2 cautions and Varazdat Haroyan has picked up 3 cautions and will miss the next fixture
After 5 games, Latvia has 12 players who have a single caution, 1 player on 2 cautions, 1 player on 3 cautions (they will miss the next fixture) and 1 red

I think JJ was our only caution - and very happy that he did! Any of the other teams' players out for next round? I think that the Armenian captain (CB) Varazdat Haroyan has 4 cautions and now out?
