Hi everyone, just some thoughts on our main players and where I think they'll end up next year. Danny WardHaving been dropped by Leicester in their relegation battle, it's hard to see him regain the number 1 shirt from Daniel Iversen, regardless of which division they play in next season. Good article here about the situation foxesofleicester.com/2023/03/19/daniel-iversen-leicester-city-no1/But where he will go? I can't see many teams paying his salary, so either he'll stay at Leicester as a backup, or get a loan somewhere in the Championship. Chris Mepham19 Premier League appearances, and with Bournemouth likely staying up, I can't really see him being anywhere else next season. Joe RodonPlayed regularly for Rennes in the first half of the season, then lost his place due to established players returning from injury. Unlikely that he'll be required as part of the Spurs squad next year. Possibly a loan or even transfer to one of the newly promoted clubs would make sense. Ben DaviesProved to be a reliable squad player under Conte, despite Spurs buying numerous alternatives at CB. Don't think he'd even consider a move at this stage in his career and will always be up for the challenge of retaining his place in side. TBC

I don't know what to make of Rodon. He'll be 26 next season, barely played any football in general the past few years. I don't see any teams in for him as there are arguably loads better options in the market either younger or more experienced.
There's so much money in the Premier League now that clubs at the bottom of the table don't have to get the scraps from the top like Rodon they would have done a few years ago. They can quite easily get an established player who would be playing for a champions league club. Don't know how much Joe Rodon would cost but lets say £10m and for that kind of money you could get someone on the continent for that. At the same time because of his value and salary he's priced out of the championship unless Spurs paid a good chunk of his wage.
Either bide his time at Spurs and hope on the off chance he gets an opportunity or take a wage cut and play Championship or abroad again. For Spurs at least, he's cheap depth at centre back and because of his little re-sale value (unless he kicks up a fuss - which I can't imagine he would because he's on a wedge) best just to keep him around.

Dan James
Some noises that Fulham are interested in a permanent move. Surprising but great if true. If not, where he'll be depends on whether Leeds get relegated I reckon.
Moore and Brooks
Difficult one. Will they get enough game time at Bournemouth?
Ethan Ampadu
Can't see a future at Chelsea. Hope he gets a permanent move to a mid table Serie A club.
Ramsey
Seems to be a good fit at Nice. Can't see anyone bigger coming in for him.

In regards to Ampadu, I can really see him staying in Italy now, I think even if Chelsea offered him a Trevor Chalobah style lifeline he'd get out of there and carry on playing week in, week out in Italy if an offer was on the table. In the time that he's been at Chelsea they've been nothing but a circus that Tuchel managed to reign in for 6 months to win the Champions League. It's not a good place for young players to develop and the writing has been on the wall for quite some time now in regards to Ethan's future, it doesn't lie there.

Brennan
Again, depends on where Forest end up. If he does move, I think he's done enough to prove Premier League quality. Burnley?

Burnley would be a good fit for him, he shouldn't aim too high and get lost at a top ten club, he's not ready for that yet. Go to Burnley and give it a go trying to land a starting spot most weeks. They're not short on attackers but injuries, suspensions, rotation and form, Brennan just needs to work on keeping the latter consistent and he'd have a brilliant opportunity to shine playing in that Kompany side.

A lot of these players need a change to get their careers back on song, those I've named have to get a full season of playing
D Ward - IF, he is to be Wales number one, he needs regular games which is unlikely at Leicester. K Moore - Needs a move probably back in the Championship E Ampadu - Needs to get the hell out of Chavski , maybe a newly promoted EPL club would consider him D James - Doesn't appear to be favoured at Leeds or Fulham, another who needs regular football J Rodon - Simply not playing enough so it's imperative for his future to move and play regular somewhere B Johnson - Is slightly different as he could move to a bigger club but find himself on the bench more, however that's depending on the Forest situation, if they stay up I think he stays one more season to improve again before the big move.

I'd imagine Forest will be looking for at least £20m for Johnson, probably especially given their outlay last season, so that probably prices out the likes of Burnley. But I think most middling to lower prem sides would be willing to splash out 25 odd mil and start him most games - Villa, Fulham, Wolves for example

I wouldn't usually say Welsh players are the best travelers but it's good to see likes of Ampadu, Ramsey, Matondo etc. go out and try different leagues within Europe, especially if they're able to find the right coaches and clubs for them. Aside from the elite players, and what's happening this year at Arsenal, most of the top clubs in the Premier League value European club cup experience and rarely promote from within.
Top 5 leagues according to UEFA coefficients are (1st) England, (2nd) Spain, (3rd) Germany, (4th) Italy, (5th) France, with Netherlands and Portugal next in line. However, this is based on past 5 seasons so I'd expect Italy to be rising up the list based on current events.
Championship seems poor in financial powers currently but quickest way back to (bottom half) of the Premier League.

Ward - Needs to leave Leicester, literally any Championship club would do
Ampadu - Agree with previous posts, would like to see him stay in Italy. Has to leave Chelsea now, he'll never get a chance there. Geographically the closest clubs to Spezia in Serie A are Sassuolo, Empoli and Fiorentina. Italian league is on the up at the moment, so would be great to see him ply his trade there, great place for defenders too
Rodon - A return to Swansea would be the best case scenario. As previously mentioned very little football under his belt for a 26 year old. When he burst on the scene for us he looked the real deal, but a stuttering club career since then has held him back, whereas Lockyer has kicked on because of consistent game time. Rodon at 26 has 145 total senior appearances. Lockyer at 28 has 440, almost 4x as many. Whether Luton go up or not, I think we should be considering Lockyer as a starter instead of Rodon
Moore - Was a nice story going up to the Premier League and scoring, but I do feel the most he'll ever be at that level is an impact striker. For us it's better that he's playing regularly. Can maybe see him going to somewhere like Sheffield United, but think the Championship would be better in terms of guaranteed minutes
DJ - I think Fulham are now interested because he's a decent squad option to have, but honestly it would be better for us if he joined a Championship club who would be willing to play him every week without fail. I think he'd be more confident and actually improve his output
Brennan - If Forest go down I think he's costing a Premier League club £40 million minimum. Wouldn't want him to aim too high just yet. Aston Villa have been using John McGinn on the RW recently, and Brennan is definitely an upgrade on him in that position. I think that would be an interesting move. However, if Forest manage to stay up then I think he's best off just staying put
Luke Harris - Loan to League One, any club will do but preferably one that will give him regular game time
