www.uefa.com/uefaeuro2012/news/newsid=1510462.htmlI know its a bit petty (and possibly distastful) to be thankful for an injury to an opponent, but this is great news for us. And we're going to be without our best player/playmaker so its only fair that they'll be without theirs! He's their Rambo- best player on the pitch when we played that friendly there last year and a real star for Fiorentina in the Champions league last season. I really like Jovetic as a player, but have to say I'm glad I won't be seeing him play against us in a few weeks- it really improves our chances of getting a result there, and let's face it we need all the luck we can get (even if it's bad luck for our opponents)

That is a massive, massive blow to Montenegro. Jovetic ran the show when they played us last time and everything good about their play was because of him. Looking at their potential replacements they will struggle to fill the gap left by him. Its a pity Ramsey is out otherwise I would almost start to fancy our chances.

Best wishes to Jovetic, and hope he recovers swiftly enough to help Montenegro take points off England.

Best wishes to Jovetic, and hope he recovers swiftly enough to help Montenegro take points off England. Do we want them to take points off England? Realistically, and I don't mean to be funny here, we cannot expect to win the group. Our best bet is to finish second and get into the play-offs. To do that, we need one team to win the group easily, and terrible as it is to have to say it, that'll surely be England. They are the top rated team in our group, and should be expected to win it easily. All the media headlines at the time of the draw were "What an easy group for England". If they win the group easily, beating all the other teams, it will give us a better chance to finish second and get into the play-offs. Don't get me wrong - I'd love it, just love it, if we beat them, , and they finished bottom of the group, but, sadly, I just can't see it happening. England will win the group easily. If other teams take points off them, it'll make our chance of qualifying second even harder.

yep, agree with cardibach. it sucks, but the best thing for us is for the saes to walk the group, and ideally hand out some beatings along the way.

It was supposed to be an entirely un-serious comment. How I have failed.

No the best way would be for England lose all their games and we walk the group.

Is there an Apostle Montenegran International Football Forum ? And if so, has it been ruminating over Ramsey and Collison's injuries; hoping they'll be abck to inflict damage on England's chances; and why doesn't Mr Toshack call up Danny Collins who is such a popular figure in Montenegro?
Curious like......

I wonder if there's a player who grew up in Montenegro and has a Montenegran parent(s), but only wants to play for Serbia? seems like he'd get shot or something.

This comment could have karmic consequences. If any of our players suffer injuries in the next few days... it's all your fault.

Believe it or not, I actaully considered that before posting, but figured we'd already had a horrific injury happen to our Jovetic a few months back.
Just to try and make things a bit better on the karma front, I'd like to say that Jovetic is a wonderful player who I've really enjoyed watching for Fiorentina and I hope he's back as soon as possible (after we've played them in Montenegro) I hope both Jovetic and Ramsey are back to full fitness by the time we play them at home, so then we can see a possible battle royle between 2 of the best young playmakers in Europe.
that better?

I dont care about karma- I hope Jovetic bumps into Ryan Shawcross on a dark night shortly before the return fixture ;D

It's understandable. A mutual dislike of Shawcross is probably one of the few things the Balkans do share

A hatred of Ryan Shawcross is slowly catching up with Cymraeg as one of the few things that unite the people of Wales (north and south) that we don't share with the English!
