Time for the defenders to start gifting chances. FFS They are supposed to be Premiership level players. Where is the technique / game awareness? Not to mention that our coaching team consists of Page, Knill, Gunter & Roberts, yet defending seems to be the hardest thing in the world to master. |

Seriously - they may not be anywhere near being readu but why oh why did Page not blood Jordan James (and maybe Luke Harris) in the Nations League games? Because Page is underconfident and does not see the bigger picture - he was so desperate to get a result that he did not use the opportunity to test a couple of youngsters. Not even 1 minute!!
Jordan James may not be up to it but neither is Morrell at the moment. I really have had enough of this. Studs up ffs after the Armenia ambush. When mediocrity starts negatively impacting our games it should leave the stage. Playing at Portsmouth does this - at that level no one would have been near him and so he did not take the care he should have.

We've been so poor in possession, we look like a Championship side technically, if that. Shape is good at least, but it's hard to see us keeping Turkey at bay for a further 45 minutes. I wonder if Jordan James will come on for Ramsey? A real baptism of fire, but we need a proper holding midfielder. We will have to keep Johnson on for as long as possible, just to give us some chance on the counter. Can't see Brooks coming on now, unless we're chasing it at the death.

Made this point repeatedly, amongst many others.
There are experienced players to come in to Morrell's position to try and see the game out, Sheehan, MJ Williams. Tom Lowery, Will Vaulks, even Andy King.
Yet Page looks to the bench and sees Jordan James, who he will have no confidence to bring on !
Poor squad balance !

I never used to rate Morrell, then he won me over with his all heart performances, but yeah that was shocking. Can't see this being a draw, they'll break us down eventually. Would love a Dan James against the run of play winner.

Our players just seem incapable of finding space to receive a pass combined with inaccuracy in our passing. Why? Surely they could not be in Premiership clubs if they are technically this poor?

Ultimately we're not blessed in that position Id argue if their impact would be similar to Morrells. However, we've called up must be something like 9 players who can play outwide or as the #10. Not much point in calling up all of Cullen, Broadhead, Harris or Cooper. A central midfielder or two should've been included instead. Just common sense really. |
