Rather than plying pressure on what the young players are doing thought it might be nice (or not) to hear stories where u bumped in to welsh players 🏴

I once sat next to Robbie Savage on a flight back to UK after we played Cyprus away. He was really down to earth and we chatted most of the flight. The opposite was our reserve keeper who used to play for West Brom ( can’t remember his name) he was a right grumpy Kent when he sat next to me and Mrs flying back from Belgium away.

Not the biggest name that'll get mentioned but Scott Young is a nice guy who's done a lot for rhondda football since retirement. When I was growing up he was a local celebrity because of the goal v Leeds but he always smiled at everyone and had time for a chat.
Met John Hartson at a service station somewhere in Wales. He was buying some grub from burger king. In classic big John fashion had about three burgers. I chatted to him while waiting for our orders to be called he was very friendly. Seemed like a genuine down to earth nice guy. A few hours later he was on sgorio and if I remember correctly it was Newtown. So John Hartson between home and Newtown needs 3 burgers 👍
I used to work in Whitchurch. During the 2014 world cup I went to my local baguette shop at lunch and as I walked in I literally saw the most expensive footballer on the planet standing there with a football under his arm with his mate chatting to the two old ladies behind the counter. They were talking about how they've known him since he was tiny and how he used to like the marshmallow wafers so he said " go on I'll also have one of them" he was reminiscing with them and as he walked out two old men sitting down said hello to him and he walked towards them to talk even though he had no idea who they were. Sounds silly but Bale seemed like a total class act that day. Treated everyone with respect and just seemed like a fucking lovely man. So to sum up Bale still liked football in 2014 and loves marshmallow

Aye that’s him. Maybe he was just having a bad day but I seem to remember he kinda gave up on Wales not long after that
