This has turned into a petty moan fest. We all know people that have fallen asleep pissed back in the day or not even bothered going to the games and stayed in bars. Not to mention the constant club rivalry, stone island strutting etc etc
The atmosphere and camaraderie at away games is brilliant at the moment. Those that went are talking about Croatia and Riga as some of the all time great aways. Enjoy it.

Hi guys, There were a few complaints about beer being thrown in the stadium, it is something that we can bring up next meeting, there were other issues as well concerning female Welsh fans which were unacceptable and will need looking at. Generally though its still a brilliant experience Wales away but there are always unsavoury incidents. Its all about crossing the line between decency, having a good laugh/time and causing distress/upset to others. Can you or anyone else clarify what the issues were regarding female Welsh fans? We didn't go to Riga but normally attend Wales games with my girlfriend so for her benefit I'd be interested to know what the problems were.

Mark Evans’ response about nothing the FAW can do about beer being on sale is shocking. I’m sure they could approach all the FAs and ask at a minimum. Self police? Ridiculous.

Huge credit to Allyson Rees for her contribution towards the end of the meeting. Those of us angered by idiots throwing beer into the air, should stand with her. If CCTV is in place at away grounds, could the FAW not obtain footage to identify individuals?
I could not disagree more with a self-policing push back. No way!

So that’s your response? Most of my mates that WERE there said pretty much the same. In fact my mate is the one that had his flag stolen. I have known Corkey for over 30 years and when he’s saying those kind of things then I tend to believe him. IF you want to ignore the official report that’s upto you.

The reports mention Welsh fans abusing local girls and fellow Welsh female fans. Talks of a mob/ gang mentality and fellow Welsh fans expressing how much it felt like a stag party etc. Fans being escorted/ thrown out of the stadium.
Nobody’s expecting angels but things have definitely been getting worse.

I'm not ignoring anything, I was there and had a great time as did everyone else I spoke to on the way home and since. The incidents towards female fans is out of order and rightly brought up in FSA meeting, so too the weird habit of throwing beer.
What I'm picking you up on is the fact you weren't there and don't seem to have travelled much recently but are determined to put a downer on the away experience by claiming it has 'turned into stag party central'. This trip was the same as when we've had large number of fans travelling in the past, including that magical summer in France and before. The only difference since 2014 is the lack of club rivalry and occasional violence we had back then.
The other positive difference is there are much more women travelling and contributing to the Wales away experience now, something you don't tend to get in 'stag do central'.

So just because I wasn’t in Latvia means I’m not allowed an opinion? I’m glad you and the majority had a great time that’s what it’s all about. The stag party comments were also brought up in the official report

If by ‘stag do’ they mean young lads on the beers having a laugh with their mates, then yeah there was a lot of that. Just like there was at the Euros, Cyprus, various trips to Brussels, Germany, Dublin, Glasgow, Milan etc etc
Difference being the further back you go there were less women in attendance and more club rivalry. I know what I prefer
The point I’m making is if you were there you would have experienced the good side of it and not just focussed on the negative things mentioned in this thread. Hopefully that can be stamped out

I do think we've gotten a little carried away with the narrative that Wales Away regulars are ambassadors for Wales who spend their days tidying up streets etc.
I mean, let's be perfectly frank, to 95% a Wales away game is a justifiable excuse to go on the piss with your friends (while sounding better to those at home), with the football being something you do on the last night of your trip before flying home.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, these trips aren't cheap and its not like we're being subsidised to go.
I would agree that more going to these games inevitably leads to one or two dickheads becoming 15-20 dickheads.
Personally I thought Denmark in Aahrus was generally the worst trip I've been on in terms of idiots, but all things considered we do alright percentage wise.

The beer throwing definitely needs to be cut out. In Prague my mate's wife had to go to A&E because some idiot launched a (hard plastic) pint glass down the stand. There would have been no intent but such a stupid and needless thing to do and achieved nothing other than hurt a fellow fan and upset others by needlessly soaking them.
