I’m a huge critic of Page… I’m holding my hands up tonight. Unfortunately the FAW have really messed up

Well done to RP and the whole of the on-field and off-field teams, thoroughly well deserved. The fans were fantastic also. Great night

I’m a huge critic of Page… I’m holding my hands up tonight. Unfortunately the FAW have really messed up Maybe it added to our intensity? They were like men possessed for 70 mins! They then withdrew but most teams (unless you are elite) tend to do that. If we pull this off it will be an incredible escape act! Shame we messed up versus Armenia but we can put that right hopefully!

All credit to Page. He's taken a lot of stick, some justified, some not, but tonight the way the team was set up was perfect. That performance was even better than the smash and grab win against Belgium. Fantastic stuff.

A historic night for the team and this is all you have to say?? 90% of your posts are just vitriol towards Mooney, what's the point?

Excellent win against a very poor Croatia side but puts us back in the mix Mooney - sure I’m not the only one on this forum who wants him out He has had a career in football shadowed by controversy, backhanders and false promises ( all freely available online ) and now this with his mate Keane on the eve of our historic victory
I will leave it up to you whether you think he’s good for our association
He’s been with the FAW for over 2 years and his promise of improving grassroots football and the women’s game is just a complete lie , neither have improved and I’m sure lots of money have been thrown at it

Mooney was good when first on scene. Speaking to fans etc. really not impressed with the past week, he should have picked up the phone to page when that article came out. And to know now page has not heard off him in 5 weeks apart from a text yesterday, very poor. Like I said no social media comment yesterday on the team, wouldn’t be surprised if the faw are investigating his position. Somethings not right there. 2 players and the manager all speaking about this.

Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for.

Pleased for Page last night after a lot of criticism, and that includes from myself too.
Nice to see him show a bit of emotion, I think I was right a few months ago when I said all this is getting to him quite badly. Last night was just a release and relief.
Maybe something has clicked with the team and management? There have been a lot of changes as well.
I also think the Korea and Gibraltar match have shown that he can, and needs to show faith in the younger and newer players.
Last night belonged to him and the players. Well done.

I was critical after the attitude in March and the performances in the first four but he’s made me eat my words, really happy with what we have seen in September & October.

I’ve only just watched him during the anthem, he was really choked up, the situation affected him greatly.

Before bringing JJ in I can't honestly say I've seen Page take a risk in how we set up in a competitive game. I hope that he learns it can be a huge benefit moving forwards, and it just shows you have to look beyond the tried and tested at times when you need results I hope Dan James at LWB is also tried more often moving forwards as that could also be a game changer for us in this formation moving forwards. Mullin is another one who I think represents risk but also possible high rewards

Well done Jack Lester too - a good 'football man' at Page's side, whose arrival has coincided with the change in our fortunes.

I was sceptical about Jack Lester, but the attacking side of things seems to have improved and is far more coherent. I assume that is his area of expertise?

It's also that we were shifting to a 4-2-3-1 with Eric Ramsey there, using Aaron Ramsey deeper and that got found out against Armenia. We've now reverted essentially to our Euro 2016 formation with a few tweaks
Neco as an inverted wing back means that whoever is in front of him in that "10" role ought to be left footed. That's one of the main issues I had with Neco & James playing together, they both want to do the same thing. Having Neco cutting back and Wilson/Brooks able to go down the line creates more attacking angles and makes it harder to defend
That also means that Roberts stays back more on the other side, as opposed to Gunter bombing on as he used to
It's also different from the wide 3-4-3 we played against Ukraine, with DJ & Bale wide. Brooks & Wilson move wide to defend but also make it a box midfield when it comes centrally, that really helped to negate Croatia's midfield 3 last night. That's why we looked less open than the Ukraine game imo and looked more fluid in attack

Played for Sheff Utd, Chesterfield and Notts Forest (600+ games in total), coached Forest's youth teams and is currently part of the Sheff Utd first team coaching set-up - so Prem League experience, but having a better time just now with Wales than he is with Paul Heckingbottom's Blades!
The fans at Bramall Lane will be hoping for a swift improvement in their team's league form.
Probably knows RP via the Sheffield connection, I'm guessing.

Must admit I knew the name but wasn't ringing any bells, now you have said Chesterfield it's coming back, scored a fair number of goals for them.
