A few minutes looking on the Cymru App indicates that there are approximately 300 fixtures in Wales scheduled to either Kick Off at 2pm on Saturday or at least overlap with an enormous game for our country. That is over 5,000 players, Team Officials, Match Officials and Spectators who will not be cheering our boys on. That is surely unacceptable. It should not come down to having a choice on whether teams want to play. There should be no grassroots fixtures that overlap with our national side fixutres. I cannot remember the last time that Wales played UK time on a Saturday afternoon so I am not certain on the extent to whether this is a new thing but it is not right. x.com/toshfan44/status/1723388694097207320?s=61&t=Vug1AXA9JdbJlgAWKI7OFQ

agreed, all games used to be off when Cymru were playing, I would be watching Cymru if I was a player even if the game was on

We sometimes have talk about making our football a summer game but if we took international breaks we'd have wiggle room to have more games in the summer without losing the Christmas fixtures and our players could focus on national team at times like this.

As an ex Welsh League player and coach, I'm not sure I agree with calling off grass roots fixtures when Wales have a fixture that clashes. The teams should definitely have a choice as to whether they play their games or not.
The game on Saturday is away and all our allocated tickets sold, so there is no issue with lack of supporters at the game itself. There might be a case if it was a home game and potentially not sold out, but again we sell out our home games.
Players should have the choice whether to play, or if they want to watch the game on TV then fair enough. In the past with teams I've been involved in, we've looked at the Wales fixtures, discussed with the players and the opposition, and made applications to postpone games that clash, if both teams agree.
For the World Cup games, we made decisions early to postpone games, through discussions with the league secretary.
Again, I don't agree that FAW should be dictating to teams whether their games go ahead or not. I'm a massive Wales fan and never miss a game (in person or on TV), but there are plenty of players who aren't as interested and wait all week for a game on a Saturday.

I used to play for a really Welsh club. Half our team would follow Wales away. We'd go up against clubs from more English parts of Wales who'd insist the game would go ahead and kick up a fuss about postponing. To me if you're playing in a match in Wales why wouldn't you be interested in watching the National Team? If anyone's forced to play on Saturday its a bit disappointing as it directly clashes with the match.

Pawb a'i Farn but it is surprises and saddens me that anyone on Apostle would subscribe to your view. Our national side is the pinnacle of our game. It must be the pinnacle of our game. Our national team in our national sport. Players should have the choice whether to play, or if they want to watch the game on TV then fair enough. In the past with teams I've been involved in, we've looked at the Wales fixtures, discussed with the players and the opposition, and made applications to postpone games that clash, if both teams agree. There will be players who want to watch Wales at home or in a bar but will be unable to for fear of letting their club down or losing their place going forward. There should not be a discussion.

It is true that the weather will beat some fixtures but regret that there are any (and there are lots in the Cymru App).

He said they have given teams the choice if they would like to call it off
I assume any game on is down to the teams wanting to play

The Cymru Premier now all showing as Sunday.
In the JD North, Porthmadog kicking off at noon so the game will be over prior to Wales game. However the other three games in that division are showing as 12.30 start which means that including half time you would miss a good bit of the Wales game.
The lower divisions still showing normal 2.00 pm kick off.
Obviously this is the latest info on the Cymru App, things may change.

Yep, I'll be missing the 2nd half as I'm at Accrington watching Wrexham. Confined to livescore.

Although the National team is the pinnacle of our game, I'm still completely against taking away peoples choices. Once you go down the route of the FAW deciding how people spend their Saturdays, I don't think it ends in a good place. To say "there should not be a discussion" sounds like a dictatorship. There should always be an opportunity for dialogue and compromise. I agree with your principle regarding how important Cymru is, but disagree with taking choice away from people who want to play rather than watch football.

This problem continues with a number of games shown as fixtured for tomorrow evening. No game should be sanctioned to play when our national side is playing.

I remember being involved coaching a side in North Wales and from memory we were given the option to play or not. I think in some instances leagues take it up on themselves to blanket ban games that take place on the same day, others give clubs discrepancy with option of playing or not. Not sure if still the case looks as though it is. Surprised anything higher than Tier 3 takes place though.

What used to get me is the blanket ban clashed on a Saturday when you'd kick off for 2pm/2:30pm and the game wouldn't be on till the evening anyway. FAW missed a trick there, would be great opportunities for clubs to show the match after the games in their clubhouses if they have one.

If the FAW had international breaks for Cymru leagues then you could naturally start season earlier (or end later) without need for move to summer football.
