Good question. A profoundly humbling week in an amazing country - changed my outlook on post-Soviet states and how they are viewed in West.
Its much more westernised now - looks like a lot of Russian mafia money has funded a huge programme if works - but still a fascinating capital.
I'll stick the main piece up later to give a flavour of 2001.
Oh, and we had a fabulous snowball fight on the dsy trip to Lake Sevan!

In the World Cup I actually went to the Irish Harp pub in basement of the beautiful Sheraton Hotel off the back of one of your articles. Interesting place. |
