I've been trying to find out details of a film I'm sure I can remember watching in the late 90s/early 2000s about a Welsh football team who win the lottery.
The general plotline was that a bunch of guys who play for an amateur team decide to pay themselves full time wages out of the lottery fund with an aim of getting themselves into the conference. It was set in Newport/SE Wales so perhaps loosely based on AFC Newport at that time.
Can't remember much more about it but I think Keith Allen might have been in it. It was called something like Goal which seems to make it impossible to search for as there's another film with the same title.
Does anyone else remember this, or I did I just dream the whole thing?!

If its the one I'm thinking of it was called 'The Score' starring Mark Lewis Jones. I seem to remember it was set near Chepstow with views of the Severn bridge in the backdrop.

I was thinking it was called something like Goal or Shoot or Score but I couldn't find anything on Google. Just need to see if I can find somewhere to watch it now online or maybe on DVD...

Looks like a pretty decent cast, wonder why this has become such a forgotten film.
