We are in GROUP BWe can top this group, with the biggest threat being Austria IMHO. It is not clear yet if the semi-finalists here will again get a bye into the World Cup in Qatar - but with this draw, I reckon we can certainly make the semis - maybe being in Group B is an omen ;-)

AUSTRIA - they beat Spain in the elite round DENMARK - lost to Georgia in the group stage (at home) and drew with Austria and Turkey

If anyone wants any tips on Cyprus let me know. I’ve had a villa in North Cyprus for 16 years and spend 6 months a year out here. I’ve been to a few grounds and most towns etc

That would be great. I'm still waiting for the stadium loations to be advertised, but have 12 days out there. Flying into Larnaca and out of Pafos.
What is there to do (with public transport) within 60-90 minutes ride out of Larnaca? Is the Scala old town area of Larnaca nice - do you know any nice authentic tavernas there, for wholesome local dishes?
I'm staying near the Armenian church.
Any real must-see sites, as I'm not really a beach bum.
Is Limassol worth more than one night? Is two nights too much for Pafos? Should I make a special effort and get over to Nicosia?

With thanks to dragonsoccer - this is the official UEFA schedule www.uefa.com/under17/news/028c-1a949c006a74-169db9ae7697-1000--all-the-fixtures/ TIMES ARE LOCAL TIMES20 May Denmark vs Wales 6pm, Dasaki Achnas Stadium, Dasaki - see below 23 May Austria vs Wales (20:30, Ammochostos Epistrofi Stadium, Larnaca) - It's 3km walk North-West of Larnaca. There is a number 444 Night-Bus, about 500m walk fr stadium, at "Smyrnis & Attaleias, Larnaca" after 9pm tariff is €4.
SUNDAY 26 May Wales vs Croatia 6pm, Dasaki Achnas Stadium, Dasaki - bus 712 from old hospital / Palio Nosokomeio- takes circa 45’ According to the current schedule ( valid until early May) the last bus 712 back is circa 8.15pm NOTE: If you are using the MOOVIT app, they call the Dasaki Stadium "Ethnikos Axnas Stadium" - the 705 and 706 buses that they suggest need a change in Ayia Napa ... so its a 2-3 hour trip!!
Looks to me, that unless you have a car, you'd be best settling North of the old town of Larnaca / Church of Saint Lazarus area.

To start with…..firstly Without a doubt you should hire a car. Even though public transport is quite good it’s not always 100% reliable. im not a huge fan of Larnaca itself especially the beach area where they tend to increase prices, the busier they get.The old part of the town is nice enough though. (Militzis is a decent Greek Taverna in old town.) A definite MUST see is Maras the “Ghost Town” which has recently been reopened to the public for very first time since 1974. You can now actually walk around it and see and literally smell the history of the town. Buildings have not been touched since 1974. It’s free to go in but I’m not sure if there is access via the Greek side so you will probably need to cross the border. But an absolute must see!! one night is probably enough in Limassol tbh but I like Paphos so two nights is fine in my opinion. ( Pegasus pub/bar is a fav of mine). Naturally I’m going to be bias but the North is definitely worth a visit. Especially the harbour town of Girne/Kyrenia where you can also visit the breathtaking Bellapais Abbey. The North is generally about a third of the prices down South.( currently 40 Turkish Lira to the pound!!). You can easily drive a hire car across the borders it currently costs £25 insurance which you buy at the border crossing. This lasts a month. Just to give you an idea I pay £60 from Larnaca airport to Kyrenia which is about 90 mins journey. With a pre booked taxi from the North.

TICKETS ON SALE Tix are €5 this year. A bit steep in comparison to the €2 in Budapest ... I hope that is not indicative of the cost of living out there ... and they better not make it to the final ... as I only budgeted for the customary a Welsh Semi ;-)) u17eurocyprus2024.com/en/home/

I don’t recommend you to go to “North Cyprus”. You can get banned from attending the matches. I live in Cyprus and i know the laws here pretty well. This is an occupied area and cypriots are pretty sensitive about this issue. Unless you wanna risk it, i don’t recommend it by any means.

Hahahahahaha PMSL 🤣…please show me what laws you are referring to? I’ve been travelling between the UK and North Cyprus for past 16 years and cross the border at least 25/30 times each year.Mostly in and out of Larnarca. These days there are actually more Greeks crossing the border North ( mostly filling up on cheap petrol booze and fags) than the other way around. Can you provide details of how many of these have been banned from attending football matches? 3 coach load of Welsh fans travelled from The North for our previous games in Nicosia never had one issue. Considering they don’t even stamp your passport at any crossing I’m very interested to even hear more details about this magic technology they must have at these tiny Cypriot stadiums. Maybe we can catch up for a beer at the 3 Welsh matches next month?

Looking forward to this tournament. Hopefully we will see a few Welsh fans present If this is anything like Budapest last year, there should be at least 200-ish friends and family and another 40-50 casuals.

Am actually enjoying the old town Skala area of Larnaca. As long as you keep away from the promenade / tourist pubs area, you can walk the winding streets for hours and only see backgammon playing locals :+) Cypriot coffee is far too sweet and their burek is rock hard. The best h2o drink is Souroti. Sheep yoghurts and goat cheese are lovely :+)
