Released by Swansea. 22 year old defender now signed for Newport County.
Apparently also in for Kai Whitmore from Haverfordwest

Kai Whitmore is English according to Football Manager.
Its nice to see players move into full time football (and increase our incredibly shallow player pool), but I always find it a bit crap if they move for no fee and the Cymru Prem club end up getting nothing for them. (And as he's out of contract, they won't).

Think he's from Swansea way I believe. FM do get nationalities wrong a fair bit.
Completely agree though. I think until clubs can get into a position of introducing multi year contracts as opposed to rolling ones it'll be exploited by English clubs. We're still a bit away from that though

We're still a bit away from that though My knowledge of football contracts only goes as far as what I've seen on Football Manager. Interested to know what the barriers are to offering 2-year contracts at Cymru Premier level? Presumably the clubs at risk of relegation wouldn't be able to commit, but I'd imagine you could have a relegation release clause for that scenario.

There’s nothing stopping them signing someone for two years (or more if they want) The problem is that they are then committed to paying that player for two years no matter what happens, a risk most Cymru Premier teams cannot take financially. One injury or a loss of form would mean them paying his context to the end. They’d rather gamble on losing the odd player than being caught out by offering longer contracts. Similar situation in non-league football. Obviously the Cymru Premier isn’t non-league but the finances are similar.
