Joel is more box-to-box while at Cardiff from my understanding.
We have recent examples of young players have dabbled in different positions to give them game time and opportunities to work on different skills for period of time.
But Cardiff have signed what appears to be a box-to-box midfielder from Man City this summer so it might also be direction from the club about wanting to change his position? I think he's more of a traditional player than his brother, who seems to be something quite different and therefore developing more slowly because of it.
Or is it a manager expecting a difficult season and not wanting to help develop defensive skills for a young player but happy to use their attacking vigour?
A good start to his loan.

Not for Newport it wasn't!

Scored again tonight in the EFL Trophy. I think I saw he was called up to the U21 squad to replace Crew
