This topic absolutely infuriates me, it keeps coming up.
They said that 2012 would be a one off, we said that they’d go back on their word and continue to try for team GB in the future, we unfortunately were right.

Seems like the worst time to try and put one together, directly after a Euros the host nations are hosting and therefore likely all might be playing in, what players will even be available? England are the only side with a surplus of players so will literally just be an English team with maybe a few token players from the other nations that couldn't even get in the Euros squads.

It needs the approval of all four nations, so hopefully we shut this down.

It needs the approval of all four nations, so hopefully we shut this down. Does it? I thought last time despite FAW, Scottish FA and the IFA all shooting down it was out of their control in the end. I do however think the attitude has changed towards it now. Prior to 2012 we hadn't qualified for a major tournament. Think the rationale for most of the Welsh lads would've been it'd be nice to play in a major tournament as unsure when Wales would ever qualify for one at the time. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/13585057 - see this article Bale said "At the moment Wales haven't qualified for a major tournament in I don't know how many years so it would be nice to play in one against the best countries in the world". Same can't be said now. As ever expanding World Cup and EUROS format making it almost harder not to qualify.

The Guardian article reporting what Andy Anson (British Olympic Association chief executive) has said ends with him wanting the ECB involvement for the cricket. No wonder them why the best Northern Irish swimmer decided to represent Ireland instead of Team GB!
It should remain a one-off (or should have remained a one-off) for 2012 and only discussed as possibility for any other UK based Olympics.
But I suspect I am saying nothing new to those reading this board.

If anyone has the time of inclination to go through the original TeamGB thread in 2010/2011, you’d see that many of us said that they’d be back trying to do it again. We were told we were being paranoid.
Hate to say we told you so but………..WE TOLD YOU SO.

Pep Guardiola has just been asked by a journalist about Jack Grealish a call up by Lee Carsley despite being injured and said that he should ask the manager of the UK team.
Does he know something we don’t ha ha.

Can see a lot of protests if they keep trying to push this through. The Welsh footballing public are more clued onto the threat this poses now
