Wales squad to face Luxembourg at Llanelli's Parc y Scarlets: Jason Brown (Blackburn Rovers), Wayne Hennessey (Wolverhampton W), Boaz Myhill (WBA), Gareth Bale (Tottenham Hotspur), Darcy Blake (Cardiff City), Neal Eardley (Blackpool), Chris Gunter (Nottingham Forest), Craig Morgan (PNE), Sam Ricketts (Bolton Wanderers), Ashley Williams (Swansea City), Andrew Crofts (Norwich City), Simon Davies (Fulham), David Edwards (Wolverhampton W), Andy King (Leicester City), Joe Ledley (Celtic), Brian Stock (Doncaster Rovers), David Vaughan (Blackpool), Craig Bellamy (Manchester City), Simon Church (Reading), Robert Earnshaw (Nottingham Forest), Ched Evans (Sheffield United), Steve Morison (Millwall), Sam Vokes (Wolverhampton W - Loan Bristol City)
Jason Brown called up over Lews Price, No Dorman, Cotterill or Gabbidon whos fit for once. Again Crofts included. Why? Nice to see Blake and Morison though. Maybe on his debut he'll play hell with luxembourgs defence...

Gabbs was always going to be left out to continue his recovery at WHU. Suprised there's no place for Dorman and especially Cotterill though. Cotts seems to have been in great pre season form for Swansea- maybe there are still 'issues' between him and Tosh?

Very bizarre. I do wonder where the consistency is sometimes.
We struggle with injuries- fair enough, but when people are fit and are overlooked its baffling. Does anybody know where I can quickly find out how many players Tosh has capped in his time? It has to be huge.
I can finally understand Crofts being called up as he is now playing in a quality side, although we need to see if he is starting for Norwich before seeing him as a long term option. But why omit Dorman? Is that it now then? Cast into the international wilderness after 63 minutes in a match which was, in all honesty, a farce.
I honestly cant wait for Tosh to leave. A united squad with every welsh player available and no beef going on with the manager would be fantastic.
Edit: Having looked at it again it seems that its about the best squad we have so I guess its not unreasonable that Dorman is left out. And looking at the striking options we have a full quota so that would explain Cotterills absence, although I would personally have Cotterill over Earnie.
Oh well, wait for the inevitable withdrawals and then see if Dorman and Cotterill get a call-up.

Cotterill isn't likely to get much game time for Wales, he's likely to get much more for Swansea next week and since he's the sort of player who has had a run here and there at whatever club he's been at but never nailed a long-term starting position, he's probably better off sticking at Swansea for this game. It's no big loss for him or us

Didn't Cotts pull out of the last Wales squad for "personal reasons"? Crofts - oh dear. Be interesting to see who plays at right back.

likely player withdrawals:
Davies- doesn't play many friendlies these days, now being managed at club level by Tosh's 'best mate' Sparky... Bellamy-will probably be busy next week sorting out a new deal with another club... Bale- Some huge matches coming up for Spurs, is guaranteed his place is the starting line up for qualifiers...
I hope I'm wrong though.

The club Crofts plays for is irrelevant. I'm sorry, but he's had enough chances to impress now and hasn't done so. I'm stumped as to why Dorman hasn't been given a call, he seemed so keen. Why not try him? Sometimes Toshack's selections really do baffle me. edit: did Dorman play against Croatia? I can't remember because I didn't watch that match. In any case, even if he did, as said above that game cannot be a measure to judge him on.

Crofts scored a good goal last night. I think Tosh likes him cos he is dedicated like Carl Robinson was and turns up and gets on with it.. But he is hardly world class

Its all very well picking good honest pros because they are easier to handle but when you do so at the expense of better players it becomes a bit of a nonsense quite frankly.

Vokes will be out.
Injured his hamstring against Millwall, apparently it "popped" so its likely we may not see him until October.
Time to get on the blower to Mr Eastwood.

Big shame that- Vokes was superb in that game away to Montenegro last year. Let's really hope Morison can do the business now- he seems to have a bit of attitude about him- even when he doesn't score he seems to at least give the opposition defendes a hard time. Him and Bellamy could be a nightmare for defences to handle if they can hit it off.

Ched Evans went down with an injury in the first half today and was limping when he was subbed in the second half. Hope he's okay for Wednesday.
