Following on from the argument about whether Toshack won the European cup or not. He was still at Liverpool when they won it for the first time in 77, but he didn't play in the final. I guess he probably picked up a medal though, otherwise I doubt he would go round telling people he'd won it. If he doesn't have a medal and tells people that, then he has a bigger ego than I thought...and I already thought it was planet sized...
Anyway, INCLUDING Toshack, I reckon 5 players who've represented Wales have won the European cup. Pint after we've won in Podgorica to the first one to name them all...

Giggs 1999 and 2008, Joey Jones 1977 and 1978, Rush 1984. Yorath and Glen Latheran runners-up in 1975. Rush runners-up in 1985. Bellamy unused sub as runner-up in 2007. Giggs runner-up in 2009.
Toshack never played in a final. Neither have I. If he can say he's won it, so can I!

Of course, if you count egg-chasing, there's more:
Tony Rees (Brive) 1997; Ieuan Evans, Nathan Thomas, Richard Webster (Bath) 1998; Allan Bateman, Andy Newman(Not sure he has a full cap, though) (Northampton) 2000; Rob Howley (Wasps) 2004; Gareth Thomas (Toulouse) 2005.
It's late now. Time for gwely. Nos da!

Bore da! Nice one cardibach, although you are still missing one.
OK, lets not count Toshack then. 4 players who've represented Wales have won the European cup (football only!)
Joey Jones -1977 (he stayed on the bench in 78) Ian Rush - 1984 Ryan Giggs - 1999, 2008
who's missing?

At what level did Owen Hargreaves represent Wales? Not u-21 or full, obviously!
I know he qualified, but didn't think he'd ever represented us.

news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/wales/1490364.stmDon't think this sort of thing would happen now with Flynn in charge. rhys williams was a regular for the U21s- I blame Tosh more for that one, although at the end of the day the guy's an Aussie cock anyway... Here's a new one on the European cup theme: Our forthcoming opponents Switzerland are managed by Ottmar Hitzfeld- one of only 3 men to have won the European cup with two different clubs. Jose Mourinho became the third a few months back. Who was the first man to do it?

Didnt we beat Trinidad there during the build up to the Germany world cup? score was 2-1 wasnt t with earnie scoring? If it wasnt that game then surely it was when we lost either 2-0 or 1-0 in Austria in Toshs first game in charge?

It was 2005, when we lost 1-0 to Austria after dominating most of the game. Danny Coyne let one through his legs with about 3 minutes to go.
That game against Trinadad and Tobago before WC 2006 was played in Graz- I think in a stadium that WAS named after someone a lot more famous than Ernst Happel. It's not named after him anymore. (clue- he's not a footballer)

I'd say it's unlikely that the Kouminator will be interested in a (total) recall...
