agreed, one or two players could learn a thing or two from him,the way he reacted to being dropped a while back has been top class,no moaning,no retiring, just got on with it and fought his way back into the squad
it cant be easy for him,the system/systems toshack has used doesnt really suit earnie's game but fair play he's stuck around

nice to read about a player saying how much of an honour it is to play for wales.
"i wanted to play for wales just once let alone 50 times"
what a guy, this is how all footballers who play for wales should think.
go on earnie

Earnie also provides one of my favourite footballing stats.
He's scored a hat-trick at every level, International, Prem, Div 1,2,3 and the FA and League Cup and is as far as I'm aware the only player to have done so.

Hasn't he got one in Scotland too? When he played up there on loan?

Top man. Excellent attitude, some other Welshmen could learn so much from him.
Ironically he wasn't born in Wales.....no-one would question his commitment though.

talking about the article and the fact he didnt pout or quit and just got on with it and kept trying.
surely we can say the same about eastwood and gavin williams etc same division as paul parry but kept going on and one day may get a chance again.

I don't know if this is true, but I heard that Eastwood had asked Toshack not to consider him for Wales duty until he found some consistent club form again. (and no, scoring a couple against a very wek Portsmouth side first game of the season doesn't count as consistent- lets see how he backs that performance up first) Anyone else hear that?
