Good game last night, good performance in the second half. Shame there were not many people there to see it!
Just a few comments i feel i have to make regarding the marketing of last night's game:
Just a few comments i feel i have to make regarding the marketing of last night's game:
- The size of the crowd. Surely the FAW could have either sold cheap tickets, or even given away freebies to Welsh schools and clubs? I know that schools are on holiday, but how long have the FAW known this game was on? - all could have been arranged before the summer holidays. These kids are the future audience - they don't even know the game is on, which brings me to...
- Advertising. A quarter or half page ad in the Western Mail, Daily Post, etc costs how much? Obviously too much. If the public know the game is on, they *might* turn up to watch!
- General Marketing. Was anyone from the FAW there last night? There were no shirts on sale (I know we've got new ones, but there must be a few old ones to get rid of). All I saw was a FAW Megastore Transit van with a photo of the Wales team on the side (in the old kit!!). That team contained Simon Davies, Koumas and the 2 Carls. Honestly.
- Kit launch. What kit launch? On the programme it said "New kit out soon". When? A lot of people want to know. Tell us.
- Membership. Have a stall outside the ground selling Silver, Red and Junior Memberships. Give out flyers explaining what they are for and why they are needed. Keep the public informed.
- FAW TV. is what, exactly? I thought the game was on $ky. We have our own tv company there too? why? Save the money, and give the contract to terrestrial tv who will advertise the game on tv. Free.
