Would have gambled on one or both of Allen or Ribeiro before Stock/Dorman/Gabbidon, but no massive surprises. Injury permitting, the first XI should be solid enough to sneak all three points....injury permitting......

Tosh has a really hard call. Either go with pretty much the same team as Luxembourg (+ Bale), or go with a great First XI on paper, but with a lot of fitness doubts. I suppose it depends how they look in training, but how awesome would it be if we could play this side?:
Hennessy Gunter Collins Gabbidon Rickets Ledley Vaughan Edwards Bellamy Bale Morrisson

Not very. I would like to think the performance of King and Cotterill will earn them starting places. Gabbidon has some work to do to demonstrate he is not a liability, and if Collins is back, Williams should move back to his defensive midfield role that gives the midfield SO much more of the balance we have lacked for years in the absence of a physical ball winner. If all fit, I'd select: ------------------Hennessey------------------ Gunter----Blake---------Collins---------Bale --------------------Williams-------------------- -------------King-------------Ledley---------- Cotterill--------------------------------Bellamy ---------------------C.Evans--------------------

We know there will be injuries and withdrawals but if everyone was fit from this group:
-------------------Hennessey ---Ricketts----Collins-------Gabbidon----Gunter Bellamy---Edwards---Blake---Ledley---Bale --------------------Morrison

Unless Gabbs proves himself in the next week or so for West Ham then he's on the bench for me, Williams has been more than able in his absence

agreed, it would be lunacy to put gabbs back in - he needs 10-15 games for west ham before we can consider him.
it's pointless bringing this up, but if ramsey was fit, then we would have a proper team. i honestly feel as if it's all there now.
morison or evans/church? for me, it's morison. they wouldn't have a clue who he is, and he is in form and seemingly very much up for it.
gk hennessey
rb gunter lb ricketts
cb williams cb collins
dm ledley dm king
amr edwards amc bellamy (interchanging with edwards) aml bale
cf morison

I cant get over the amount of people who wouldn't include Williams. Gabbs HAS been awesome for us but could you honestly say he is fully fit and more deserving of Williams to be in the starting line up.
I like the thought of us playing a 4-5-1 come 4-3-3.
I like the thought of having Morrison upfront adds a bit of height to our attacks. Even if he hasn't got the best touch he can hold the ball up and bring our other players into the game then he has done his job. If we are to play with two upfront thou I think Evans and Church are the best option perhaps if things aren't working.

Gabbs should only play if Tosh goes for 5 at the back, but I hope he doesnt do that. Williams has been very steady....touch wood, and Gabbs has got to play more games for West Ham before being selected as 1st/2nd choice for Wales! Id like to see Vaughan play some part or even start, as he's been in great form for Wales over the last few games. Also, King could be a great asset with his late runs into the box, he's scored a few like that for Leicester.....
I just hope we take the game to whoever we play and at least have a crack. I'd rather lose 3-2 in an entertaining game than sit back, be bloody boring for 70 mins and then go and lose 1 nil!!!

Is Bellamy as effective coming in from the right though? Hed did well for man city on the left and cutting in on his favoured right foot?
How about............... _________________Hennessey _Ricketts or Gunter________Williams_____Collins______Bale _Cotteril____King____Vaughan____Ledley ___________________Bellamy _________________Morison__________________
Although I would like a holding midfielder just infront of the back four. Would Darcy Blake or Joe Allen be up to the mark?

With what is at stake for the U21s it's reasonable for Allen and Ribeiro to travel to Hungary and Italy rather than Montenegro news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_of_wales/8931293.stm

I think we are going to struggle for balance with a 5 man midfield. Bellamy and Bale occupy a similar position as long as Bale plays left wing, and with his defending being his weak point it makes sense to play Ricketts at left back.
At the moment it seems to me like a case of either/or between Bellamy and Bale, unless Bellamy plays as a striker alongside Morison. To play a 5 man midfield with Bellamy playing alongside Bale would weaken the whole point of a 3 man central midfield axis.

whats the point in not calling up dorman for luxembourg but the the competitive game?
also after the under 21 games, next month in bulgaria we have to use our what could be amazing secret weapon adam matthews at some point.
this game though morison will be bang up for it and an awesome weapon

The Western Mail, this morning, was hinting that Toshack would go with his usual 3 centre-halves. Hope not.

New campaign, new tactics surely. We wouldnt have played with 4 at the back in the friendlies if he was planning on going with 3 centre backs for the real deal.
