"Manager John Toshack wants Wales to host England in their Euro 2012 qualifier in March at Cardiff City Stadium, not the Millennium Stadium."
Just posted on the BBC website. Do you guys think it would be better there? I personally would think enough fans would be coming for it to be played at the Millennium.

Wont make much difference (Ninian Park on a Tuesday night in November would be my preference ;D) but at least it will be full of people there for the right reasons and so the atmosphere should be good. Well done Tosh for going with the CCFC. Hes got something right ;D

Agree with Toshack on this, Wales have always played better in more compact stadiums at home.

It should be in the Millenium.
The Millenium is a great stadium when packed - as it will be when England come to play. 70,000 Welsh supporters are better than 30,000.
The counter-argument is that quality is better than quantity, but in reality there is only really a hard core of at most 12,000 Wales fans, perhaps much less, maybe as low as 4,000. These guys would be there for the right reasons but will inevitably be outnumbered by the fairweathers no matter where we play. The atmosphere should be good in the Millenium - fairweathers can still be noisy.

England did and made more noise than we did due to their fans being congregated together. The fairweathers were extremely quiet where I was sat. There were even England fans in the home end. No offence to supporters of other clubs but I would like to see a massive Cardiff following at that match. A Cardiff City home atmosphere is as good as it is likely to get for us.

Has to be at the CCS for a chance of winning. Full of daytrippers last time at the Mill looking to take pictures of Beckham. We only had a decent atmosphere at the Mill once, and that was against Italy.

Agreed, I remember it well. Something more important that any atmosphere no-one seems to have mentioned either is the quality of the pitch, the MS surface is a pig to play on. We'll also be smack back in the middle of the 6 Nations, probably shoved in between some Monster Truck show and the Ireland game.
Also, we've never been welcomed there according to the players, as opposed to the CCFC stadium where City basically chucked us the keys and said "make yourselves at home lads".
Personally I wouldn't shed a tear if we never set foot in the place again.

Definitely should be played at the Cardiff City stadium ... id much rather 25,000 fans rite on the back of the england team .. than 40,000 glory hunters with 30,000 english fans.. Tosh is 100% rite choosing C.C Stadium..

this cannot be at the mill stad - and reading into it, i think bellamy and tosh have made their preference very clear.
those who say we would have more support with 70,000 fans could not be more wrong.

1. England would have 8,000 regular fans at the Millennuum, that would be reduced to 2,700 at the CCS.
2. Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard, etc have all played regularly at the Mill Stad, both in cup finals and for England. Cardiff City would be a new experience for them.
3. 9 wins in 34 games at the Mill Stad.
4. Wales have never come from behind to win at the Mill Stad, no matter how many fans, there is no evidence that that a Mill Stad crowd can lift us when behind.

Absolutely stunned and delighted that Toshack is making it clear he doesn't want to play at the mill. scoop's post is bang on- the mill is more ispirational for the opposition than for us. I've been banging on for a while about how the FAW needs to at least make a case for the match being at the mill, and what they'll actually do with the extra million quid. It seems they've been unable to make a decent argument for it being at the mill with Toshack- No suprise there, I'm sure the sky deal is worth more than a million more than BBC but they've ben unable or unwilling to explain what they've done with that money. Its obvious the players will be happier playing at CCS, as will most of the real fans. If Cardiff are top or near the top of the table come March and Bellars is still in form, the atmosphere should be at fever pitch, which is exactly what we need.
Only problem is, I prmised my mate's 8 year old son I'd take him to the game, assuming it wold be at the mill and it would be easy to get tickets... oh well.

Cardiff City Stadium for me. If 20,000 people can't get tickets that's not my problem
