Perhaps he wouldn't want to return to the Prem because of his wife's family, going by the press stories about them, and their absence from his recent wedding.

Can't see Bale refusing to play. Smacks of propaganda to me.

He’s not wanted at the club, if he had any pride in himself he’d leave. He missed his chance to be the main man and now they’re just not interested. If I was Bale I’d leave and show them what they were missing...

On the bench tonight as Madrid take on Arsenal.
Not buying this Zidane saying he refused to play the other evening.

A goal on his return to the side helping Madrid come back from being behind 2-0.
Came on at half time and looked sharp throughout. Played as the centre forward.
Also cleared one off the line to keep Madrid level, missed a penalty in the shootout but the headlines had already been written.

What a way for Bale to prove to his doubters that he's still got it, after bagging a goal for Madrid against Arsenal.

Is that the first time he's ever missed a penalty? Can't remember hime ever missing before?
Really glad he got his name on the scoresheet. I really want him to embrace being a centre forward now, and just work really hard into getting his habits right as a striker. At the moment he still plays a bit like a winger that has moved up front, but last night he showed that he can get into the right areas with his goal.

He missed a pen for Wales out in Russia under Toshack in 2008. Should have won that game.

Seeing him bag the goal and seemingly reject China on account of the quality of football at least suggests he hasn't given up on football.
Whatever the circumstances of his time at Madrid, Zidane was out of order for disrespecting him as he did. It has been reported that it has caused a bit of a backlash with Flo Perez.

Good luck to him!
Whatever the merits of the move, he'll be the main man and the team will be built around him. His team mates and supporters will likely have a lot of respect for him. Hopefully, this will have a positive impact on his esteem, and there's nothing to rule out a move back to Europe at a later date either.
A number of players who featured in the World Cup are already playing out there (including a couple of the Belgians). Doesn't seem to have done Hămsík much harm either.

its the move from someone who wants money and an easy life and i'm not against the per say but he's 30. Its a terrible shame. He's become a bit of a dick lately and i don't see how anyone can defend him. He could have gone back to Cardiff and earned £40,000 a week i'd imagine so its not football its money. A hero of mine just died a bit.

He doesnt need the money and he would be a legend that would never be surpassed... a god like figure...

Thought he didn't want to move because he had 'a lovely life and home in Madrid', he really doesn't fancy football anymore does he?
Lost all ambition, and became purely driven by greed. Sorry, but this is obscene.

I'm not sure that's necessarily the case. It's been clear that many European clubs have had major doubts about signing him. There have been rumours of potential moves to United, Bayern, PSG and Tottenham in recent weeks, none of which materialised. We don't know what financial details were discussed, whether he'd have agreed to take a pay cut, and whether it'd have made much difference, particularly given the fact that he'd still have commanded substantial wages and most of the top clubs are vying for younger players.
