Bradshaw moved from relegated Shrewsbury to League One Walsall this summer. He has scored 2 goals in 4 games thus far. Is he a striker with potential to play at a higher level? He certainly has a natural athletic ability. Geraint Williams will not select Bradshaw for Wales U21s againPersonally I feel Geraint Williams dealt with his omission from the Wales U21s in the wrong way. I know others on here disagree, but playing full professional games should take precedent over Welsh youth games for me. I am one of those who disagree with you. Playing for the u21s in Wales is now a big deal and has been since John Toshack saved Welsh Football. In this case, I was not aware of the full facts but, from what I saw, good on Geraint Williams. Lets hope that the player makes contact with Williams/Coleman and says how important playing for Wales is going forward.

I totally respect your point of view here and understand why you hold that view. I just feel the main purpose of youth internationals is education. Though of course youth international football is important and we should ingrain a sense of a desire to win all games. I just feel a senior professional club game is more valuable education wise. I also feel a given player is more likely to progress if he is first successful with his club.

I first saw Bradshaw playing for Aberystwyth I thought he looked like a very low budget Messi. Similar build, quick feet, and the comparison ends there...
I think the situation Bradshaw was in with Shrewsbury was a very difficult one. He was just about establishing himself in the first team after a while on the fringes of professional football. I think his priorities were entirely understandable where he was at at the time. It shouldn't count against him going forwards. Equally, Geraint Williams' stance was perfectly reasonable. Just an unfortunate timing issue more than anything.

He was like a kwik save iwan roberts. totally agree with your comments about both bradshaw and williams position being understandable.

But he was playing for Aberystwyth (in the Welsh Cup final) at the time. Context is everything.

He made a decision which was understandable but I feel he has to really demand being picked again with some top class performances, not the odd goal for Wallsall

I know it's only Walsall in league one but he's started this season superbly. 4 goals now.

Let's wait and see if how he goes, if he bangs in 20 goals this season he may become worth considering

Were doomed
This little shit turned down a place in the U21s and if he gets called up I will be well fucked off
Has anyone seen the standby list?

If we are having to drag up people like this it is even worse than I thought.
Also, sends out the wrong message to players

I think it would leave a bitter taste if this guy was called up after he shit on the 21s but I guess our striker situation is that desperate. I wonder if Craig Davies and Earnshaw are on standby?

Jonjo Shelvey turned down England U21s after his first cap at senior level - but I don't see the English fans getting so uppity about his latest call up to the seniors. It would be great to have seen better commitment from the likes of Bradshaw - but at the time he was just about establishing himself in the professional game and his priorities were understandable. We can't afford to be too precious about things.

He declined to be available for an u21s game so he could play for his club. Which, in all honesty was probably more important for his development. It's not like he turned the u21s down for no reason.
If he he turns out to be good enough, I'd be happy for him to be called up.

Lets be honest, there are far more high profile senior pros who have not been involved in squads for far less noble reasons than Bradshaw had and they seem to be forgiven purely based on the value they bring to the team.
So let he who has not sinned cast the first stone, I say.

He went off in the first half today with an injury. Hope he makes a quick recovery.
When fit, all he needs to do is get on the phone to Geraint Williams and ask to be considered for selection going forward.

Has he burnt his bridges with Geraint Williams...he said he would rather be available for club games, instead of being on the bench for u21s???

I believe selecting him would send the wrong message to all the yonung players form u16s upwards (possibly even younger)
If we need an emergency striker I would rather see the following before Bradshaw
Davies Morrison (came of the bench for Leeds on Saturday) Earnshaw Easter (yes Easter)
there are probably several more I could find as well

Bradshaw scored a brace yesterday at MK Dons. 14 out of 20 this season.
I asked a couple of Walsall fans whether they are aware of him being watched by other clubs and one referred to Bristol City and one of the Sheffield sides.

A good tally, I'm aware he's been on the stand-by list for some Wales squads during this campaign.
I hope Jake Cassidy can score plenty of goals in 2015, he's only 21. It would be good to have 2 young strikers doing well!

Living in Walsall and working in Wolverhampton I know how highly the Saddlers fans regard him. However they all say the same thing: "But he keeps getting injured." When he plays though, Walsall score. Let's see where he can go if he carries this form on.

"But he keeps getting injured." ---------------- Sadly, you can say that about half our current squad...

Scored his 15th goal of the season tonight! Has to be worth a call up for the Israel game. Him and Vokes are pretty much all we have anyway. At least, they are the only ST we have who are scoring goals.
