Been on twitter recently and a few welsh fans have been tweeting moaning about harry redknapp and his comments that he has supposedly said he may consider pulling bale out of the next to welsh internationals because he has played too many games, anyone know if this is true and could he have the audacity to even try that and let keane etc and the rest of his squad play international football yet stop bale playing for wales?!?!?!

If he tried it, it would inevitably provoke a protest from the Welsh camp. It's sometime tolerated in friendlies but it still in contravention of FIFA rules to pull someone out without them being injured, and te Wales team doctors are allowed to assess a player themselves. It would not be tolerated for a competitive international, and frankly, 'Arry is a c*nt if he tries it. No-one would tolerate it if it were England, or even Scotland or either of the Irelands.
I think it's very unlikely myself but if it happens we should complain vry loudly nand make as much of a fuss as we can.

im sure that fifa(or uefa im not sure) rules state if a player is called up he MUST attent the camp and can only be pulled out if he becomes injured(only after being assesd by that nations medical staff) and must have permision to be withdrwan by the national team manager
basically there is SWEET FA twitchy can do if flynn calls bale up

If its true then it shows what those ignorant cockney twats think of us. I dont think he will because it will infuriate Bale and there are a number of big european teams linked to him, so I think he will have to stay on his good side if he wants to keep him.

Having read the article it's almost certainly nothing to worry about. Just Paul Abbandonato serving up second-rate journalism as usual.

Even though they have"retired" from international football would they still have to turn up?

Only example I recall is makelele kept being called up by France although he'd retired.

no retired players are not forced to turn up as they have retired
however victor anichibe of everton and nigeria refused to play for nigeria and had to miss a game for everton last season as another example

Redknapp did'nt even mention Wales in the interview. Walesonline are the only website to have a story on it aswell. It does'nt even mention it on Tottenham's official site. So basically they are making up stories as they go along.

You can't retire, if the country wants to call you up they can. Eg makelele news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/5394486.stm

Hmmmm, I'm not so sure. It does prove though, if further proof was needed, that Domenech is a bit of a wally Not really, it proves that the rules are there for people to use- its just nobody exercises it to keep the peace. Its petty in the extreme but I would stand by our right to stop these players playing for their clubs when their retirements occur under dubious circumstances. Lets be honest Davies is just being a berk with all this sore feet nonsense and Id be tempted to invoke it on Giggs too after the dismissive way Ferguson thought he could dictate to Wales how its going to be. One call up for every friendly Giggs missed over the years. Have some of that you sour faced toe rag!

That's what i meant. If Giggs is named in Wales next squad, Ferguson will have to release him. That'll teach the grumpy, miserable, red-nosed, sour-faced $*&$^@#.
He's been dictating for years. If we called up Giggs, England called up Scholes and Bulgaria called up Berbatov, there's nothing Fergie could do. If he refuses to release them, they could all be banned from playing for Man Utd for a game.
Over to you, Messrs Flynn, Cappello and Matthaus. Call his bluff. ;D

Its about time somebody stood up to that bully and showed him that you cant take the piss with smaller nations just like he wouldnt with England. The most co-operation we have ever got out of him was when Hughes was in charge and it was actually widely acknowledged in the press that he relaxed the reins a bit due to Hughes influence.

but why would you want to waste a space in the squad with players who have retired and thus do not care about playing for us which would benifit nobody? surley it would be better to call jake cassidy up as he is already better than pele according to some on here or adam matthews, ribeiro etc

But, as there's no restriction to how many players you call up you can always call these guys just to see the reaction. Anyway, moot point, Flynn will make the right calls.

I'd like to see Giggs called up just to see Ferguson put on the spot.
However, it won't happen and to be honest I don't believe Giggs's talent outweighs the media spotlight and pressure his presence would put on the team for these vital games.

I love united etc but ferguson has always got under my skin concerning wales, i was so glad bale and ramsey left united alone because he would be the same with them, arsehole when it comes to us.
