has just come to the end of his (supposedly very lucrative) contract at West Ham, and I really can't imagine him being offered another one there considering his persistant injury problems. Haven't heard anything about anyone else being interested in him though, and I can imagaine that he'll only be offered a play as you play deal anyway ( how many games has he actaully played in the last 3 years? 10? 11?) So does that mean that he might just call it a day? I really hope not, considering he's such a classy player. But when you've played as few games recently as he has.....

well, he wont get a prem club. for me, cardiff on a pay as you play would be a sound move.

He could well call it a day. Hasn't been at his best for ages, and at 30 (?) will find it hard to get back there.
Retirement, followed by a re-appearance in the Welsh Premier 2-3 years down the line, imo.

Did anyone see the leaked West Ham contracts a while back? I believe they are true, or they seemed to be anyway. Gabbidon is/ was on £50k a week! Collison on the other hand is on £2k a week.

to stay there, he'd probably need to divide that by ten - and agree some kind of larger 'per match' bonus. even then, i reckon they'd rather get rid.

Chris Wathan has just written something about the need for our Premiership players to hit the ground running, and pointed out that James Collins will play international teammate Danny Gabbidon as Villa face WHU early in the season. More western fail madness? or does he know something we don't? (maybe I've got it wrong, but I really thought he'd just come to the end of his contract?)

Nah, I'd guess he just hadn't twigged his contract was up. If he knew he was being kept on, surely the WM would have run a story to that effect. Wonder if he's been doing his coaching qualifications, he's certainly had plenty of opportunity!

He's definitely leaving West Ham. Grant won't want Gabbs. He'll plunder Pompey.
Blackpool wouldn't be a bad move to be honest - he just needs games

I believe Gabbidon is still under contract with West Ham for another season.
Rumour was Blackpool were willing to pay £1m but West Ham want more

Also, if he could get an injury free pre season and some games under his belt I would be delighted to se him back in a welsh shirt
Who would rather Nyatanga or Morgan as one will have to play especially if williams plays in Midfield.
Gabbidon has een our best centre half since Ratcliffe and at 30 could still be a massive asset

west ham want more than a million? that sounds pretty outrageous. although i suspect that could be something to do with the loyalty payments they'll have to pay him if they choose to sell him.
