I'm glad that this thread has recently been commented on as I would've overlooked it otherwise. Excited to listen to previous episodes as soon as i get back from work.

When will part 2 be recorded/posted? When I've edited it! It's recorded but with a lot on in work this week probably will be available on the weekend, maybe next Monday.

Will be interesting to hear if this reflects a poll on Apostle about this matter? I know previous discussions have broadly reflected the views on Apostle. Two great things!

Next podcast will be available shortly at soundcloud.com/podcast_peldroed. We look back at the Belgium match, the Victory Shield and we discuss Tony Pulis's suggestion that Ryan Shawcross should make himself available for Wales. Please RT, share, facebook, etc. This will be the last one of 2014. It's been an interesting ride this last 7 months: learning the technology, getting tips off other podcasts, struggling to find venues suitable for recording (harder than it sounds), and receiving very encouraging feedback. Thanks for your comments, contributions and ideas. Coming in the new year: a website, a blog, more opportunities to contribute. Diolch yn fawr EDIT: having permission problems with IT at work so won't be available until this evening

A little update on some of the work going on behind the scenes at Podcast Pel-droed HQ:
Next recording is Tuesday night. It'll be the first one to be recorded since we started that doesn't come hot on the heels of a match or with one imminent so we'll be selecting our best Wales XIs and it will be the first of many discussions about 'off-field' matters.
New website - really, really excited about this. Someone of this parish has been designing and constructing a website to be a permanent home for the podcasts as we've reached the limit for uploads at Soundcloud and it doesn't allow for other content e.g., pics, blogs, etc. We'll make a bit of a fuss about launching it once it's been completed; suffice to say it looks delicious and hopefully the podcast content will do it justice! We've ensured there's a prominent link to this board off the front page in order to continue to drive traffic here and raise the board's profile. If you're interested in contributing to the blog section let me know via the hotmail address below. We won't be accepting anything just yet but you'll hear as soon as we're ready. It won't be as bilingual as I would have hoped but maybe that's for the future. We'd be very grateful if people could, in due course, raise its profile with mates, acquaintances, grandparents and casual lovers
Podcast contributors - due to work, family, community service commitments (and dodgy skype) members of the team can't always make recordings. If you're interested in possibly taking part in the future, again, email via the hotmail address below. You'd need to be able to get to Cardiff for a couple of hours on the allotted evening. No previous podcasting experience is necessary. Can't make any guarantees, but options off the bench are always handy if we're stuck.
iTunes - watch this space...(cos you're not a proper podcast unless you're on iTunes right?)
Photos - we'd be grateful for any photos from Wales games, new or old, that people would be willing to share with us for possible use on the website. Due credit would be made. Send them to you know where...
Look forward to bringing more updates very soon. Thanks for reading / Diolch am ddarllen

Try Rush's 1996 biography (written during his Leeds days), lots of Wales stuff mentioned there if I recall.

Enjoyed listening to that podcast, I hope Gabbidon gets his 50th cap! So do I. I fear he won't though which would be a waste and something for which he needs to accept a degree of responsibility

Ran out of time to discuss managers (and captains for that matter) in any great detail. Personally I'd probably go for either Yorath, for nostalgic reasons, or Speed on the grounds he is probably the only manager we've had who was fit for the modern age in terms of tactics, sport science, psychology, media-savvy etc.

I can see him and Ricketts being good coaches in the future.

I think the 'professional' is ironic....

Agreed, Giggs gets a hard time over his attendance but tys only really friendlies - his appearance record in qualifiers isn't so bad. He played every minute of the Euro 2004 qualifying inc play-offs, one of only 3 players to do so I believe.

Got two podcasts coming up ahead of the Israel fixture.
Firstly we're recording a chat with Raphael Gellar an Israeli sports journalist for an Israeli perspective on the fixture. He's worth a follow on Twitter (@raphael_Gellar). Then the gang will get together in the usual way to look ahead at the game. Won't be able to ignore Team GB either. Cover some other topics too if time allows: NI friendly, new under 21 campaign

I am hoping to meet him in person whilst I am out there. Very interesting chap and really passionate about football. Beyond the current campaign for our senior side, I would hope that the u21s can be prioritised in the podcast.

Van den Hauwe is a decent shout. But I think he figured for Wales when most of us were still quite young, certainly he isn't really in my consciousness. Should he have won more than 13 caps too?

I would be lying if I said I'm not a bit more anxious after hearing that their forwards are in great form. I think based on what I just heard, I would take a draw against them and hope Belgium beat them. 5 star Llannerch

Great stuff many thanks
From the discussion - if we can stop them from scoring we have a real chance of taking all 3 points. Their defence is an obvious problem area to them

Great stuff many thanks From the discussion - if we can stop them from scoring we have a real chance of taking all 3 points. Their defence is an obvious problem area to them I think if you could make up some sort of rating system from one to 10, I would say we have a 6/7 defence, 7 midfield and maybe a 7 attack if bale is in there. I don't think they can boast such a consistent team. From what I've heard I would say they have a 5 defence, 6 midfield and a 7 attack. I know that's a very strange way of describing my thoughts on the game but it gets my point across also I think. Would you agree with that?
