How much money do these players need.
I firmly believe that both Gabbidon and Davies have retired to ensure they get new contracts.
I would guess that Davies' contract offer was based on him actually retiring.
That twat Hughes probably played a major part in it as well.
As for Gabbidon, I do believe we could have used him for these 2 games but with Collins back in the squad (mixed feelings about that) it wont be too big a loss.

i think its becoming the trend now that with new contracts to players over 30,clubs are demanding they retire as a clause
so the player has a choice,go with the contract and retire or grow some balls either negotiate the clause out of the contract or find someone who will let em carry on for their country
gabbidon and davies are similar stories, they must be laughing all the way to the bank..davies signed a 3yr deal if i remember?for a player with his injury record he's done very well for himself,no other club would have offered him 3yrs so the decision to retire was quite easy for him i imagine,it will be the same for gabbidon
something need's to be done about it but short of calling them up regardless and enforcing the 5day rule? so they cant play their club match before or after international dates i cant see a lot more that can be done?
its very frustrating

Like in every normal job you need to give and work your notice in advance, why not football. The FAW should put in rules that the player who wants to retire has to speak face to face with the manager or it won't be accepted. At least the manager will be given the opportunity to try and change the players mind. Instead we have a bunch of cowards who hide behind texts or the media to give the bad news. The FAW need to nip this one in the bud before our national team is full of Welsh Premier League players.

bellamy will be next to retire. Sweet jesus....you reckon I'm undermining morale in my 'next to retire' thread yet you're dancing at the same end of the ballroom. Presumably, each of your split-personalities posts on here
