As much a lot of our current demise can be attributed to the laziness and substandard management, coaching and preparation of John Toshack and his backroom team, I also feel the FAW and it's new Chief Exec should come under the microscope for their failings since Mr Toshack took over the reigns.
First up, we have a friendly planned against Luxembourg on Wednesday 11th August at home in this country of ours. Can anybody tell me the venue, the kick off time or where to buy tickets.
During the Mark Hughes era, yes I know I look back at this excellent time for Welsh football, tickets had to be bought well in advance even for friendlies. I get the feeling as part of 'Project Toshack' we dint eve want a crowd or a decent level of expectation.
We have a qualifier against Bulgaria at home on October 8th 2010, just under 4 months away on a Friday Night, yet again nobody knows where, what time or who our captain will be going into Mr Toshacks last campaign.
I ain't even going to mention the details of the England match on March 26th 2011.
When is our website going to be more than a vehicle for results of age leveled football played by our Under aged teams.
I urge people to look at the Scottish, Northern Irish, the brilliant one the Football Association of Ireland run or even the New Zealand Football Association website.
What are ticket prices for the forthcoming internationals?
When is the new strip being launched?
How do i go about Hospitality seats?
We have a huge FAW Council, who in the words of a prominent member of the FAW inner circle has said 'that once these people get onto the FAW council they semi retire and stop doing any work'.
I am not at liberty to disclose my source, or the ex English Premier League who describes the 10 day stays at the Vale under Toshack as 'a chore'.
Unless the FAW is more accountable to the Welsh Assembly Government, the FAW is a more streamlined set up and the time taken to get from local league level ie Executive Council member of a Junior League or Senior League to area Executive Council ie South Wales FA to Welsh FA Council.
For example if a player goes into management at the end of his playing days at say 32, he then possibly gets on his local league council at 34, it then may take him 10 years, if he's lucky, to get onto a council like the South Wales FA, then he has at 44 years of age another decade if he's lucky to get onto FAW Council.
Have a look at the average age of the FAW Council, we even have people in their 70s, 80s and even someone over 90 in this Welsh version of Harold Shipman's waiting room.
How can a vibrant, dynamic, young forward thinking body of people be this age and then back some ancient 60 year old to oversee a 'youth revolution' at playing level.
We, the supporters, players, junior coaches and anyone involved in supporting or developing the game in this country are dwindling in number while these people travel all over Europe presiding over a period of time that may change once a new manager is installed come 2011.
I only hope that when the new manager is installed, he is based in the UK and wants to answer to a new streamlined FAW and players who want to play for and represent this great nation of ours.
We the supporters need to make ourselves otherwise we will continue to be under class and have our super markets and garages filled with England 'goodies' every 2 to 4 years.
We can talk all day about team selection, tactics etc but until the organization from top to bottom is modified and restructured what we are looking at now with players retiring early and players withdrawing from stupidly planned end of season friendlies this is going to be the pattern for the next decade.
We might even see the Ramsey's and Bales of this world be protected like Ryan Giggs was the clubs have every right to feel worried about letting their top players, who are playing at Champions League level, go and spend time playing with and for a substandard operation that grudgingly pays top dollar to stay at the Vale, grudgingly pays top dollar to fly from Cardiff and is only profitable as an operation because we have played against big nations in recent times such as England, Germany, Russia and even the Eire who have paid premium rate for the television rights to our matches as they have picked us off at ease in the matches and left a big fat cheque behind for the pleasure.
The feeling amongst the FAW is that while the cheques keep rolling in for television rights and we run a small, cheap operation, we can show a profit from television rights and the size of our crowds doesn't matter anymore.
I urge anybody with proof to correct me as we dwindle in number and interest.
I would love change to come about and cheer my nation, unfortunately I don't know where they are playing or at what time they are playing, or what UEFA qualifications the manger has attained.
I know what country the manager lives in, I know who doesn't want to play for him anymore and I certainly know how big our over sized Executive Council is and I know when our Chief Executive took up his post.
The things that matter to the supporters and paying public are all a bit of a mystery, on reflection, also a mystery is the fact that we appointed someone who constantly criticized Mark Hughes during his first managerial appointment despite the way he galvanized the nation, got us to a play off and got everybody from England beyond talking about us and appointed the same person who fits in nicely with the DNA of the FAW and has taken us as far as he can and will never get another decent job in football again despite this wealth of experience that we are so lucky as a nation to have the benefit of.
