The news that we're not returning to the Millennium has provoked outrage on Twitter.
Sample responses:
"SAD!!!"
"What a mistake. A huge missed opportunity"
"Muppets"
"more fans, bigger atmosphere"
"Why not? Millennium Stadium is the home of Wales"
I suspect NONE of the above Twitter users have watched us play at home in this campaign, or had any intention of doing so until Saturday night. Well done to the FAW for sticking to its guns on this. Well done to all the Wales fans defending the decision too.

It couldn't happen logistically.
Belgium - venues must be confirmed 120 days prior to fixtures. I thought it was 90 but still too late. 2 One Direction concerts 7 & 6 days prior to the match, assuming the pitch would be removed for that, it would need to be relayed in 4 days as the teams need to train there the day before. Israel - rugby match the day before Andorra - rugby match 2 days before
Both of the above would be impossible as the teams train on the pitch the day before the game as per EURO 2016 regulation 34

The 120 day rule was brought in for this campaign.

It was stated that senior players were consulted and they said no.
This means that we won't return there, probably ever.

Whilst moot for the rest of this campaign (good!), if you have not voted, please do so. Even though the Argentinian game did not happen, there is no reasons for starting a new poll as this captured a large proportion, like myself, who were willing to return but strictly for a one-off non qualifier.

i have no problem with a "glamour" friendly there but unless it was one of the top 3 or 4 sides in the world and tickets were capped at a tenner i doubt very much if it would sell out anyway

See thread about Jonathan Ford. Basically a return to the Millennium was mentioned in his interview on Radio Wales today. Disappointing, but inevitable. A bad start to the campaign and we will be playing in front of 10,000 in a 70,000 capacity venue. Lets be fair, its not hard to get tickets under the current system unless you are a moron or a glory hunter who doesnt know how the system works (and they are basically the same thing). If people get locked out they quite literally only have themselves to blame. Its a backward step and a money grabbing ploy to go back to the mill stad.

Surely you can't blame the FAW for money grabbing if it does double the gate for each game?

Surely you can't blame the FAW for money grabbing if it does double the gate for each game? You cant blame them once, but you can when it happens twice. We saw it 2003- if they want to do it again then they need a better exit strategy than wait 5 years until the welsh international footballing experience is a truly miserable one before taking measures to rectify it.

I was watching some highlights the other day of our 2-2 draw with Northern Ireland in 2004 (don't ask why), and there were plenty of empty seats in the upper tiers then, and that was our first home game following the Euro 2004 campaign. The only time the Millennium will sell out is on a weekend (which is about 50% of international games these days), against a top tier nation, and if we're in good form going into it. All of those factors coming together at once (such as this Friday) is once every few years!
